Come on admit it, you would also create this magnificent silly example of public art if the side of your property had a wall as long as this. Each figure is 2m tall....that'll give you an idea of the scale of this beauty. A comp of 4 images.
Well all good things must come to an end. And sadly this is the final Brownhorse 365. It’s been an incredible journey and I’m in a position now that I could never have imagined, this time last year. My photography has improved drastically; I’ve met some really cool people and have been totally blown away by the response that my 365 has generated.
First off, this is not the last that you have seen from The Brownhorse!!!! So please don’t go thinking that I won’t be doing any self portraits anymore. I plan on doing the 52 week challenge and I have been saving up my theme week ideas (hopefully you remember my mask week and my bread week). So keep your eyes on this space. The idea is that I don’t knacker my self out, and that the ideas should be stronger. So its quality not quantity!!!!! And I really do have some corkers lined up for the theme weeks. Also when I finally get round to it, I’ll be putting my favorite 365s into a book on Blurb, so you can have a little bit of me for yourself.
Now onto contacts. Thank you, thank you, thank you. To anyone who has ever commented or faved or just even looked, you have spurned me on to do greater things, and have truly inspired me. I have the regular band of very cool people that always comment and for them (you all know who you are) I’d love to buy you all a drink and say thanks in person, as I never expected that. The project started out as something for me, and kinda turned into something for lots of people. To be honest I still can’t believe that I get anyone looking. I’d love to be able to comment on all your streams and look at all your fabulous shots, but as you probably have noticed I haven’t been around much, and I’ll get onto that in a moment, and for that I’m truly sorry. The standard of work that you guys put out is incredible, and is constantly an inspiration, and all I can say is keep it up!!!
Now onto the future, you all know that I’m going to do the 52 weeks project and some theme weeks and the odd FANCY DRESS FRIDAY (how could I not). Well the other big news is that, together with some mega talented chaps, we are opening a photography studio and training centre in the heart of Brighton. This is incredibly exciting and will hopefully become a centre point for photography. We will be doing our own shoots as well as hiring out the lovely big space to other photographers and also doing lots of different training courses. I can’t really say too much about it now, but we get the studio in a few weeks, so again watch this space. As I mentioned earlier, I would never imagined when I started, that by the end of my 365 days project, I would be opening a studio with some super talented photographers that I met through flickr and earning a living doing my passion. Life is funny like that.
As the title of my final shot says….‘and now for something completely different’. I hope that you’re all part of this journey too.

Doune Castle in Scotland or the Castle of the Monty Python movie! The tour guide said that there is a day where the visitors can take their coconuts to clap then around. I don't know if it's true but definitely a funny idea ...

Just realized is was also used as the set for Winterfell in Game of Thrones!
Luckily no explosion resulted in this whimsical tempting of Fate. Really, if the Gods Of Irony chose to smote me down, this would be the perfect time.

Now I think I know where all of the santa claus clones come from - I found a nest at the christmas market in Darmstadt, Germany. It seems they come in all colours, sexes, shapes and sizes. For some reason, this large group of santas made me think of the old comedy team Monty Python...
Please view in full size for the best effect.
In honor of the Monty Python reunion, not only the Collectible Minifig Series but also the LEGO Architecture series will be expanded! The very limited set* of Camelot includes a booklet with the lyrics of the Camelot song too.
* only one set has been produced yet...
Castle Stalkeris the most amazing subject for taking photos. I have hundreds of shots of it, the view and atmosphere are second to none. One of my favourite places.
Medieval castle in Scotland.
Parts of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail were filmed here as well as Outlander and The Game of Thrones.

"Always look on the light side of life.
If life seems jolly rotten there's something
you've forgotten and
that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
don't be silly chumps
just purse your lips and whistle
that's the thing!"
From my archives - I thought I'd save this for the darkest, coldest, wettest winter day - the time has come!
The Château de Langeais is a medieval castle that was rebuilt as a château in the Loire region of France. It was restored beginning in 1886 by a wealthy citizen and later bequeathed to the Institut de France.

..... Just when it was about to become real funny, I ran out of mana. So typical.
With me unable to turn them into pigs, the guards could finally capture me.
Loraine didn't help either. She just ran off screaming "I am not a witch!"
The guards took me to the nearby village.
Immediately a mob of peasants gathered around.
The fact that I didn't wear a black pointy hat and hadn't the slightest wart confused them.
They kept arguing with the guards whether I really was a witch.
One of the smarter ones suggested they did the float-on-water test.
Great! Just what I needed. Call me screwed .....

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: The Holy Grail sets are up on CUUSOO
This scene takes place in the Repressed Peasant Inn in the dark forest of Ewing right after Sir Robin's encounter with the three-headed knight.
Due to unknown reasons this scene has been removed (like the appearance of Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Film).
Gamla Stan, Stockholm. August 2017
This scene reminded me of a classic Monty Python skit...
SERGEANT MAJOR: Now, today, we're going to do marching up and down the square! That is, unless any of you got anything better to do. Well?! Anyone got anything they'd rather be doing than marching up and down the square?! Yes?! Atkinson. What would you... rather be doing, Atkinson?
ATKINSON: Well, to be quite honest, Sarge, I'd... rather be at home with the wife and kids.
SERGEANT MAJOR: Would you, now?!
ATKINSON: Yes, Sarge.
SERGEANT MAJOR: Right! Off you go! Now, everybody else happy with my little plan... of marching up and down the square a bit?
COLES: Sarge!
SERGEANT MAJOR: Yes?!
COLES: I've got a book I'd quite like to read.
SERGEANT MAJOR: Right! You go read your book, then! Now! Everybody else... quite content to join in... with my little scheme of marching up and down the square?!
WYCLIF: Sarge?
SERGEANT MAJOR: Yes, Wyclif?! What is it?!
WYCLIF: Well, I'm, uh, learning the piano.
SERGEANT MAJOR: Learning the piano?!
WYCLIF: Yes, Sarge.
SERGEANT MAJOR: And I suppose you want to go and practice, eh? Marching up and down the square not good enough for you, eh?!
WYCLIF: Well,--
SERGEANT MAJOR: Right! Off you go!
WYCLIF: Oh.
SERGEANT MAJOR: Now! What about the rest of you? Rather be at the pictures, I suppose.
SQUAD: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ooh, yeah. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Right.
SERGEANT MAJOR: All right! Off you go!
SQUAD: Oh. Ooh. Great. That's great. What a day. I want to see the Merle Oberon picture. Eh hehheh.
SERGEANT MAJOR: Bloody army! I don't know what it's coming to. Right! Sergeant Major, marching up and down the square. Left, right, left. Left...
NARRATOR #1: Democracy and humanitarianism have always been trademarks of the British Army...
SERGEANT MAJOR: Rubbish!
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: please support my Holy Grail project on CUUSOO, thank you!

Yannick, a friend of mine, is a hobbyist actor. He is working hard in a theatre troupe called "Singing on the Roof". Despite them being all French people, they love to play in English, mostly Broadway-style musicals. This year, they are going to present "Spamalot", the famous "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" inspired musical comedy. I was more than happy to help them with the poster.
First, my wife and I designed the main concept. We wanted to show some humor, the Grail had of course to be there, and the main characters had to be displayed in a clear way. Moreover, some negative space had to be left around them, for the various texts and stuff that had to be added as well. After a few different tries, we validated a project, and they all came to my place, for a photo shooting session! Needless to say, it was great fun: I had a blast asking them to fool around in their costumes ;-)
The show will happen in Paris, end of June. All the details and credits can be found on their website www.singingontheroof.com . You can see the fully finalized version of the poster there too (including the copyrighted Monty Python text that I didn't include here for legal reasons).
Cheers!
