43 years ago, a television show debuted with a old man coming out of water, saying "It's" and then cut away to opening animation and Sousa's march. Monty Python's Flying Circus had arrived and totally changed comedy. I have seen all the episodes and movies, as you can see by the DVD collection (favorite is disc 3 - which has the Dead Parrot Sketch and the Lumberjack Song). I also have their recordings and books.

Taken in October 2010 but only just uploaded as I have played with it in Photoshop. I am still a muppet when it comes to processing but having nothing better to do as a result of raging insomnia, I spent a few hours watching various photoshop tutorials on you tube and hey presto!.. I am an expert! ( joke... I am still a dribbling fool but hey.. who cares?!)
Somehow this makes me happy. I need more nonsense in my life.

This is the lions' den at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo but no lions were to be seen. Perhaps that most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent had done them in.
This ranks alongside Eilean Donan and Kilchurn as my favourite scottish castle. I was determined therefore to come back with a shot or two, even if it meant dodging the rain showers

I was just about ready to fetchez la vache myself after trying to get any decent shot today!!! This is as good as it gets for 365 and FGR today,LOL...organizing the kids, the dogs, dinner ( fajitas, meat cooking as I am trying to take this ) - none of this contributes to a successful photo. It is what it is :)).

Being St George's Day, and as technically speaking the Land of the Bed is an annex of England, Mr Fox and Mrs PB decided to commemorate the day by dressing up as the reptile slaying vagabond.
Donned in their finest armor, they wandered their green and pleasant land searching for their dragon...
Several hours into their quest, Sir Four Pints turned to Sir Fox-A-Lot and told him, in no uncertain terms, that if she didn't splat something soon she'd go 'medieval' on him. Fearing the probability of a dragon flapping in front of them before Mrs PB's rolling pin made contact with his skull was rather slim, Mr Fox began to consider how best to flee - this was no time for chivalry.
Luckily for Mr Fox, but less so for Mr Raccoon, a certain foaming and entirely bonkers stripy tailed trouble maker sprung out of the darkness yelling "Wibble Wobble". Mr Fox said afterwards that he's pretty sure Mrs PB's never moved so quick - not even when lured by her favorite food! The raccoon dealt with, the dashing noblemen, trotted off to dispose of some beans.
If we took the bones out, it wouldn’t be crunchy, would it?
So, Todd came over for lunch today, and we ate grasshoppers.
Todd has eaten a lot of ants, and offered the fine suggestion that insects rank pretty low on the vegetarian karmic hierarchy of edible life forms. He regards sentience on a continuum. Low-neuron count organisms operating off reflexes might garner less respect than organisms capable of thought, or organisms with a centralized brain capable of feeling pain.
Somehow I was not reassured that the bag of chocolates reads:
“Yes, these are real grasshoppers. They’re even approved by the FDA of Thailand.”

Doune Castle may look strangely familiar, even to those who have never visited before. It depends on your taste in films: Doune Castle is a place of pilgrimage for Monty Python fans from all over the world who come to see the place where they filmed parts of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".
It also has other, more traditional, claims to fame. Doune Castle was built at the end of the 1300s for Robert Stewart, Duke of Albany (see our Historical Timeline). The exact date of construction is not known and it is believed that the end result is not exactly what was originally planned. But the combination of buildings that emerged met all the military and domestic requirements of a royal castle.
Doune Castle is a late 14th century stronghold near the village of Doune, in the Stirling district of central Scotland. The castle is sited on a wooded bend where the Ardoch Burn flows into the River Teith, across a bridge from the village. It lies 5 miles (8.0 km) north-west of Stirling, where the Teith flows into the River Forth.
The British comedy film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a parody of the legends of King Arthur by the Monty Python team, was filmed on location in Scotland in 1974. The film's producers had gained permission from the National Trust for Scotland to film scenes at several of their Scottish castles, as well as the permission of Lord Moray to film at Doune Castle. However, the National Trust later withdrew their permission, leaving the producers with little time to find new locations. Instead, they decided to use different parts of Doune Castle to depict the various fictional castles in the film, relying on tight framing of shots to maintain the illusion.
