It's basically a thousand-foot mountain of volcanic gravel. The fence marks a path that leads roughly along and around the flow of lava produced by the volcano.

Looking in my back yard we are now entering our monsoon season.

Now we get hot and Humid weather instead of Hot and Dry.

That brown color is the real color of clouds

in Arizona.It's filled with DIRT and all this and not a drop of rain.Lots of strong winds and blowing DIRT!

Southwestern New Mexico is the playground for the Pronghorn and deer and a wide variety of wildlife. The monsoon clouds show the beauty of this desert landscape.sf

 

it rained heavily in Clarkdale all afternoon, culminating in these raging waters gathering en route to the Verde River.

The fishhook barrel cactus defends itself with an array of sharp spines, curved and straight, but its big flowers are satiny sunbursts of incredible beauty.

Babies always stare at me, I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the same reason why everybody else in Mexico does: 'cause they're not used to tall, curly-haired gringos. But the little ones seem to be drawn to me. Same with animals; maybe it's because we speak the same language. Or maybe it's because I drool and enjoy mashed carrots also.
