Various visits to properties on London Open House weekend.
The House of St Barnabas is a Grade One listed Georgian building with one of the finest Rococo plasterwork interiors in London. Soho Square was developed in 1679, but the house was substantially rebuilt in 1746. The rococo decorative scheme dates from 1754.
It currently operates as a private members club that generates revenue for its charitable projects.
The house is currently being monitored by Crossrail for subsidence and cracks as the tunnelling is taking place nearby.

The Bengal monitor (Varanus bengalensis) or common Indian monitor, is a monitor lizard found widely distributed over the Indian Subcontinent, as well as parts of Southeast Asia and West Asia. This large lizard is mainly terrestrial, and its length can range from about 61 to 175 cm from the tip of the snout to the end of the tail. Young monitors may be more arboreal, but adults mainly hunt on the ground, preying mainly on arthropods, but also taking small terrestrial vertebrates, ground birds, eggs and fish. Although large monitors have few predators apart from humans who hunt them for meat, younger individuals are hunted by many predators.
Land monitor meat is considered edible (especially by indigenous Veddah and Rodiya people) while water monitor meat is not

El monitor Huáscar es un buque de guerra del siglo XIX de destacada participación en la Guerra del PacÃfico. Fue construido en el Reino Unido en 1864 por orden del gobierno peruano y sirvió en la Marina de Guerra del Perú hasta el 8 de octubre de 1879, dÃa en que fue capturado por la escuadra chilena en el combate naval de Angamos. El Huáscar sirvió activamente en la Armada de Chile hasta 1897, año en que fue dado de baja. Actualmente sirve como museo flotante en el puerto chileno de Talcahuano. Es una de las pocas naves de guerra de su época que aún permanece a flote.
