Random office shot of my monitors at work. I like my new desktop image by 'Nalden' (right monitor). Minneapolis, MN 2009.
Lumpini Park is home to a number of Water Monitors like this one I found out on a stroll along the bike path. Apparently in the months since this was taken the population of these critters has exploded to about 400.

When we design things, we have always looked to the human body for inspiration. Bend your arm at the elbow, stretch it out, rotate your hand at the wrist. You have just experienced the inspiration for our monitor arms.
The adjustability of these arms is an important component in giving workers ergonomic support. When we recently asked companies about the types of monitors they use, 84% said flat screens. And 58% noted that they use desktop computers, with separate display, CPU, and keyboard.

Crocodile monitors are arboreal lizards that are found in mangrove swamps and coastal rainforests.
Crocodile monitors hold the title of the longest lizard (up to 10 feet) due to the length of their tails, which they use as a counterbalance as they move through the trees. They are quick, agile, and highly intelligent. While this species is very difficult to breed in captivity, the Honolulu Zoo has had proven success at reproducing them. Crocodile monitors are protected under CITES, but are threatened by poaching and deforestation.

I bought this Monitor Lizard at the Goodwill about 3 years ago. I threw it up on the garage and it landed just perfectly and has been there every since.
This goanna was seen in the Pilbara region en route to Mt Augustus. I think it is a yellow-spotted monitor of the varanus rubidus sub-species but I am not that smart so it could be something else!
