So kannte ich Modrian bisher nicht.
eine wunderbare Ausstellung,
das Wirken von Modrian...

Viele kennen den Maler Piet Mondrian (1872-1944) als Schöpfer von strengen geometrischen Kompositionen mit schwarzweißen Linien und Farbfeldern in Rot, Blau oder Gelb. Dass der Niederländer in seinen ersten Jahrzehnten Landschaften und andere gegenständliche Motive wählte und diese oft mit überraschender Farbigkeit inszenierte, ist kaum bekannt. Die Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen zeigt Mondrians Weg von den frühen naturalistischen Gemälden bis zu den späten abstrakten Arbeiten und spürt die formalen Zusammenhänge auf, die zwischen den Bildern aus fünf Jahrzehnten bestehen.

Another door within a door. But this time the design brings to mind the abstractions of Piet Mondrian (1872-1944). Mondrian was a direct contemporary of Edvard Munch who also died in 1944.

nowadays the world is small and apparently all-inclusive information ... so I am even asked by friends from other countries about the Mondrian picture, which has hung upside down for years in a museum in Düsseldorf.
Supposedly it can't be changed now because the public got used to it and maybe the glue won't hold anymore if you turn it the right way ...
what do you think ? on the right hangs the original version, on the left the now retained wrong hanging ...
heutzutage ist die Welt klein und anscheinend allumfassend informiert ... so werde ich selbst von Freunden aus anderen Ländern auf das Mondrianbild angesprochen, das falsch herum über Jahre im Museum in Düsseldorf gehangen hat, angesprochen.
Angeblich kann es jetzt nicht mehr geändert werden, weil das Publikum sich daran gewöhnt hat und vielleicht der Kleber nicht mehr hält, wenn man es richtig dreht ...
was meint ihr ? rechts hängt die Originalfassung, links die jetzt beibehaltene falsche Hängung ...

You never know what you'll find when you walk the streets of New York. I don't know the story behind this street art but I do know it was inspired by artist Piet Mondrian's colorful geometric abstract paintings.

--- The standout feature in architecture at the Medienhafen is the colorful façade and the red technical projectile, which currently crowns the second highest construction in the harbor at 62 meters. More than 2200 color-printed glass panels made of thermal insulating glass were installed by the architects to exact specifications and, in combination with an internal sunscreen, form the curtain wall. When splitting the color surfaces, areas that are completely colored alternate with patterns of up to four colors. The color design also continues inside the building.
--- Herausstechendes Alleinstellungsmerkmal in der Architektur am Medienhafen sind die farbenfrohe Fassade und das rote Technikgeschoss, das den mit 62 Metern derzeit zweithöchsten Bau im Hafen krönt. Über 2200 farbig bedruckte Glaspaneelen aus Wärmeschutzisolierglas wurden nach einer genauen Gestaltungvorgabe durch die Architekten angebracht und bilden in Kombination mit einem innen liegenden Sonnenschutz die Vorhangfassade. Bei der Aufteilung der Farbflächen wechseln sich vollflächig gefärbte Flächen mit Mustern aus bis zu vier Farben ab. Die farbliche Gestaltung setzt sich auch im Innern des Gebäudes fort.

The 1 cm high spindle holding the 2 hands on my glass Mondrian clock. I expected to have bold bright colours surrounding the spindle (see the clock in the first comment field) but the glass just gave me a perfect mirror reflection when I placed it in the window to catch the morning light ;o)
