The modulation control PCB fits here with the control spindles through the panel.
ERROR! The modulation control keypad (on the right) is fitted upside-down in this photo. I discovered this when the buttons did the wrong things and I had to unscrew it and turn it round.

So much fun... and I forgot to tell the artist that it was on pots and

"The sublimated Doiro. A prodigy of a landscape that stops being so by force of loosing its
measures. Is not a panorama that the eyes contemplate: it is an excess of nature. The stone terraces are steps from titanic men going up the slopes, volumes, colours and modulations that no sculptor, painter or musician can translate, expanded horizons beyond the plausible thresholds of vision. A virginal universe, as if it had just been born, and already eternal through harmony, through serenity, through silence that not even the river itself dares to break, sometimes disappearing stealthily behind the hills and others bewildered at its depths reflecting its own amazement. A geological poem. The absolute beauty.“ Miguel Torga in Diário XII

I have had an idea to take photographs of the same diatom slide (a small arrangement) using various contrast techniques for comparison.
The photos are labelled A-K. I know what each was taken with. Techniques (in no particular order!) include;
dark-ground
phase contrast
Hoffman Modulation Contrast (HMC) (DIY)
DIC
oblique
bright-field
relief contrast (Leica, I think designed for inverted)
variable amplitude contrast (VAC)
All were taken with a x10 Plan Apo objective, apart from a couple eg. Phase which is a x10 Plan Fluor
All are stacked images of 7-11 individual images, and processing is minimal, and broadly the same.

Today Byron came over so we could start recording some versions of pop songs we’re crazy about. Our arrangements are wired for pure indulgence, pure
sonic enjoyment - and hopefully the art just happens. We started with Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” with a windy spring rain happening outside
the door open to the courtyard. I programmed a simple beat. He added a bass line. After he left I stuck around and added lap steels, voices, synths.
My first synth solo (yes, both the pitch and modulation wheels were employed), paired with a lap steel solo. Pure sonic indulgence. I kinda love how it turned out. Maybe I’ll start posting snippets here, as we go. Speaking of
synths, a friend forwarded me a notice today that 80s british synth-pop wonder-duo YAZ will reunite to perform some shows in July, along with a release of B-sides. I almost hit the floor! We’ll get to hear Alison Moyet belting over Vince Clark (Erasure, Depeche Mode)’s geniusly programmed pop masterpieces - some could be Motown hits. I was just thinking yesterday how much I wished I could’ve seen them perform live…and wondered whether there was any recorded material besides their two classic albums.
Tour Travelogue, updated daily (or more):
I am working on a concept of an integraterless delta sigma ADC. Tonight I figured it out. The analog signal is modeled in red, the demodulated signal in blue. as you can see there is a heck a lot of fit!
simple polyphonic synthesizer with a high pass+low pass, attack release and amplitude modulation.
it uses wavetable oscs so you can draw any waveforms you want in the three green arrays on the right.
first version pretty fugly still.
Lots of options here. The LFO Modulation button is the only thing on my unit that does not work. Apparently they often went bad but are easy to fix (have to get around to that).
about 0 to 100% duty cycle, up to 4kW (if used with not included heat-sinks), about 28kHz pulse width modulation frequency (PWM)
