Hit EXPLORE on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at position # 28.

I'm a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo just hanging about in the park, bird seed wouldn't crack in my beak; that is until I see you have a camera. Now, let the show begin...

I cannot help it but I like the modest colors better during fall

last year that was

while this year stormy weather took away the leaves soon, while they were still rather green

A homemade modest dwelling with a million dollar view, ocean and mountains.

A Great Blue Heron in an uncompleted nest atop a dead trees captures a scene of delicate construction and stark natural beauty. These large wading birds are often seen in "rookeries" during late winter and early spring, building or repairing nests high in the canopies of standing dead trees (snags)

I am grateful for your continued support and appreciate every view, fave, and comment!

I thought it looked interesting from the back...

Ammi Visnaga 'Green Mist' is an Egyptian wildflower similar to Queen Anne’s Lace.

It has longer stems, hardier blooms, and is lovely pale green.

Bishops Flower, Queen Annes are common names.

Bishop's Flower, or Queen Anne's Lace flowers are nectar rich and attractive to bees and butterflies.

Ammi ‘Casablanca’ is a wonderful border plant and good cut flower. It has larger, showier, more rounded umbels than Ammi majus.

Without doubt one of the best filler-foliage plants you can grow and a flower arrangers dream.

Ammi Casablance is easy to grow and adds a delicate airiness to any sunny or partially shaded border.

Caution: The sap from these plants can irritate the skin and may cause blistering when exposed to the sun.

Have another blooming day and thank you for your comments, M, (*_*)

The canal lies quiet near Garden Lock, its banks newly washed with the soft greens of spring at last, the trees lifting their fresh colours against a sky where the sun’s brief intervals faded as cool clouds gathered and a few shy drops of rain touched the water. This short, gentle waterway—opened in 1818 to carry coal, lime, and grain across the Vale of York—never grew long, yet it has endured with a kind of modest grace, and on an afternoon like this it feels every bit the old companion of the land, breathing calmly as the weather shifts around it.

A Spoonbill's typical look of modest interest in the photo taker before going back to more important matters.

Henry Phillips, in his book ‘Floral Emblems’ 1825, wrote that the cyclamen symbolised diffidence. “As modest diffidence adds attractions to beauty, so does this graceful flower engage our notice by its unassuming carriage, for the cyclamen, although it expands its petals in an upright direction, never rears its head to the sun.”

A whirlwind trip to Bali with Jay, but each day was a lifetime.

...

A new series. Out of square format, no title except that "engraved" on each photo GPS coordinates "a place of reliving a moment." In fact all the photos in this series are from my 1st photos made in 2009 with a modest Samsung.

Thank you for this one I've exhausted, finished with Scotch for his seal ...

and offered me a "window" to the world!

I thought it looked interesting from the back...

A view from the Dunstable Downs (Bedfordshire, UK) on to the Aylesbury Plane (Buckinghamshire) and the village of Edlesborough with its "Church on the Hill" (St. Mary's). The Downs are merely 300 meters high at this point, but the steep chalk escarpment provides enough lift for gliders, para-gliders and kites. Shot at F8, I believe.

This is a very modest photograph of M45. It's a stack of photographs that make up an integration lasting about 37 minutes (I also took calibration shots, darks, flats, and bias shots). I took the photographs with my Nikon D5600 camera and my vintage 135mm Nikon lens from the late 1970s, on the Sky-Watcher EQ3 equatorial mount. Although I took the photos at the end of December 2024, at the beginning of the Argentine summer, the very basic processing was done now. For this, I used Siril, GraXpert, and Gimp.

Daughters of the Titan Atlas and the sea nymph Pleione in Greek mythology, the Pleiades have been part of other mythologies and numerous references that permeate human culture. Among these, perhaps the most emblematic is Homer's mention of this asterism in Book XVIII of the Iliad, when Hephaestus makes a shield for Achilles in the battles of the Trojan War:
