I test drove a Model X again today. I’m basically just torturing myself now. A few days ago I was contacted by a guy who works at the brand new Tesla gallery in Southlake. I have an X design saved in my Tesla account online. He was able to see my design and called to see if I’m in the market.
I ended up going to the store and chatting with him. I told him all about my situation: How Emily and I have been saving for nearly two years, how I sold the S to get the house, and how tired we are of sharing a car. My main goal with meeting him was to get a better idea of how close we actually are to being able to get a car.
After a long conversation, he really got me thinking about taking the idea of a 75D more seriously. I’m not driving 100 miles a day anymore, and there are enough Superchargers now that I should still be able to traverse the country with relative ease. Not to mention it cuts about $10k off the price of the car. That, coupled with possibly getting an inventory car (they’re essentially brand new) would cut the price even more. So now he’s gonna send me a few inventory cars that are available, local, and fit as many of my specs as possible. Yikes!
