I have nothing with cars, but always wanted to go to the BMWWorld and as I had to be in Munich for business I grabbed the occasion and I think it is a must for everybody interested in architecture.. As you can see even fashion photograpers love this place.
I thought this girls outfit fitted perfectly the archtitecture so I sneakingly had a go at this as well . . !
What a frustrating B&W processing hell I’m in. It took me hours of work and rework to get close to the black and white ideal/vision I want. At the time when I shot this image of Lucy against a walled background I didn’t “see” in black and white. I saw in color and that made this image really hard to convert to black and white.
I came from the film photography time when all I had to do was choose the right B&W film to get what I wanted. With digital it’s a whole different ballgame and workflow (so much time) but I do get the flexibilty a digital workflow offers.
Going forward I have to learn to “unsee color” and see black and white.
My daughter Sabine tried-out a fashion model shoot from her girlfriend Jackie. This was the second time she held a DSLR camera (Canon D40+28-90 kitlens). Sabine did her best to make a Flickr-proof photo, and I promised her to post this photo on my Flickr photo stream.
I think that all views and comments will give her a boost to motivate and continue shooting. If you would leave a comment, my daughter will appreciate that very much.
A previously unpublished image processed in my current PP taste.
Location shoot at Point Dume, Malibu, CA.
Model is Lana Ekstrom. There is no skin retouching here - she has great skin.
Strobist: SB-28 in a Lumiquest ProMax w/ gold insert, held by a VAL camera right, at 1/2 power giving f/8.

Strobist: 4 lights. A variation on clamshell lighting I call "over/under". The key is an Elinchrom Quadra A head in the Deep Octa, without the outer baffle, boomed over camera axis, at f/5.6. Under this is a B800 in a large octa, providing fill at f/4. B800 on a 20º grid at the background (which is a white cyc), Another B800 as a rim/hairlight behind and camera right. The 2 accent lights are seasoned to taste - no meter readings.

Gorgeous Melissa taking the lift. Just a quick shot during the Brendan de Clercq masterclass arranged by Sony Nordic.
Shot on a Sony A7 RV and a 85/1.4 GM lens provided by Sony. A really nice camera with an outstanding AF system.
Processed in Capture One Pro, where it got some ILFORD HP5+ looks by Mastin Labs styles.

Strobist: 4 lights. The key is an Elinchrom Quadra A head in the Deep Octa, without the outer baffle. I wanted a crisper, more specular light, in a short/loop-to-a Rembrandt position, camera right, f/11. There is a B800 in a large softbox, boomed overhead, providing weak fill. B800 on a 20º grid at the background (which is a white cyc), Another B800 opposite key as a rim/hairlight. All of the other lights are seasoned to taste - no meter readings.

Ksaundra B did her own wardrobe and makeup.
Strobist: basically glamor lighting. Key is an Elinchrom Quadra in a deep octa, boomed over camera, f/11. Rim lighting is provided by 2 B1600s in gridded strip boxes, right and left rear, approximately f/8. Triggered by Pocket WIzards.
PP in LR3/CS5.
There is not a whole lotta post. Ksaundra is just naturally gorgeous.
Doing some Glamour work as part of Project 52. I'm not sure if this isn't more fashion than glamor,
