Location: Popei in Eindhoven, PopEi is a music center for Eindhoven and surroundings dedicated to bands and musicians who focus on pop music in the broadest sense of the word. Popei is on Strijp-S site, this old Philips site offers many opportunities for photographers to work with light and shadow.
In this picture we used the big windows they have at Popei. By turning his body to the shadow and his face to the light, you can easily send the viewer in this photo.
Working with such a large window is comparable to one studio lamp, if you have mastered it, it will be easier to work with another light source.

Temporary objects, such as a parked bicycle, are a trigger for me to see how I can use something like that during a shoot.
In this setting, black appears in the photo in varying degrees.
The combination of learning to see and taking the time to arrive at the right atmosphere ensures that you, together with the model, end up with such a photo.
