Tilt-shift effect on this image taken from the Old Fort overlooking Corfu Town, Greece.
I took this photo with this exact effect in mind. It just seemed to fit perfectly.
This model is based on an article by Iain C Robinson in the May 1978 issue of Railway Modeller magazine, "Low Relief Signal Box". That article (p.147) refers to another in the October 1962 issue "Lean-to Signal Box at Wolsingham, NER". The 1978 article includes drawings of the construction of the model, and two photographs.
Many automobile manufacturers throughout the years have offered promotional scale models of their vehicles, and Volkswagen was no exception. Volkswagen contracted the German toymaker Wiking to produce their promo models. Pictured here are a mid-'60s Karmann Ghia, an early '60s Beetle and a mid '50s VW panel van. The body comes off the chassis on the Karmann Ghia and the Beetle, and the clear plastic top half of the Bus is removable. I believe the scale of these models is approximately 1:40, and they are made of plastic. The diner in the background was made by Plasticville, an American company that made buildings for train sets.
This new style of necklace looks so much better on than flat on the table, so I had to model it!
I have no idea what to call it - so all suggestions gratefully received!
Polymer clay, no glaze, no varnish, just gently polished.
