It's August 15, 1965 and Barbie and her friends are going to a very special and exciting event! Can you guess what it is???

Here's a little tutorial on how to use those fab hair pieces that come with Barbie Hair Fair heads. Hair Fairs are my favorite because you can create so many looks with just one doll. Enjoy!
TNT Hair Fair Barbie is dressed in a clone pantsuit, champagne blonde Barbie is wearing "Pajama Pow"
Commissioned Skipper restyled into original piggy tails. Not a big job but I think she looks much cuter now.
Spring is on its way, and Melanie thought she would throw a garden party to celebrate! Here she is relaxing in her garden tent wearing "Tropicana #1460" from 1967-68.
This is my long overdue finale "Dolly of the Day" picture :P
This Talking Barbie head came in a TLC lot of heads. her lips needed retouching; I removed her eyelashes as they were really sparse and crooked; and I restyled her hair from a frizzled 3 tie side pony to a side pony with a large curl (to hide the fat that it is frizzy :P). I will try and post a before and after shot of her ASAP :)
I am obsessed with the talking doll seats ATM. They are so nifty and fun!
This is my latest addition to my Steffie faced standard barbie collection!
I gave her a clean, Straightened her hair using the boil perm method, attempted to tame her arms, and rerooted two plugs of hair in the back (using another brunette Steffie standard as a donor).
I am quite happy with her, but I would like to find a body without swaying arms :P She actually has the best facial colouring of all my steffie standards!
I think she is ready to join the ranks of all the rest :D
P.S. I have decided to name her ducky!
Quick Curl Francie re-rooted in frosted brunette. She is really a cute girl she really did not anything but new hair to look perfect.
"Clear Out!" Ft. my beautiful oxidized redhead Casey wearing mod Francie's "Clear Out" ensemble, circa 1967.
Uploaded two covers this month because I couldn't decided between the two XP
Yes, we are still going with the birthday presents! But this time we have one from Eddi (aka Modbarbie Lover). She is a titian Sindy doll! The only kind I ever wanted, and I was searching for one like crazy in Britain but could not find one. Thank you so so VERY much Spageddi! She is wearing an green trench with brown boots (Miss SIndy 44344). She is most definitely Scottish in my opinion. The hair is so red and unruly :P It was bucketing down when I took this shot (and thundering like crazy!) and my camera got soaked, but somehow the rain didn't show in any of the photographs. She was dressed perfectly for the weather! Thanks again Spageddi! I love her!
Recently I have been thinking about the differences between TNT Barbie and Standard Barbie.
It all started when I noticed that the TNT necks are thinner and longer than those of vintage and standard dolls. The other things different on the TNT's are bendable legs, eyelashes, and the TNT waist.
When looking at these illustrations from the same booklet, I noticed that the Standard is depicted as more cute whereas the TNT is depicted as more sultry and edgy. The standard illustration is more fluid and rounded and the TNT illustration is more angular.
I actually think that the Standard dolls DO look more innocent and doe eyed than the TNT's, and perhaps that is why I prefer them.
So what do you guys think? Do you prefer the sultry beach babe TNT, or the "girl next door" Standard?

I've had this photo on my Flickr, listed as Private, for about a year and a half. Completely forgot I even hand it till I stumbled upon it right now.
Another photo for today!
Here are two lovely Golden Dreams. One belongs to me and the other belongs to Eddi (aka ModBarbie Lover).
We unboxed them on video which can be seen here: youtu.be/BwyQnrC3gao
Here's Barbie in a vintage wedding dress and Ali McGraw in a similar style wedding dress. This is what I love about collecting vintage doll fashions!
This lovely dress is a gift made by my dear friend The Doll Keeper. Thank you Maria!
Barbie and I wish all of you here on Flickr a wonderful holiday and all the best in 2016!!
I recently finished this Malibu re-root, the customer wanted her to be a redhead. She has also been given eyelashes. She was not in terrible shape but she had the typical dried out hair that are typical in dolls from this era.
As some may know, I have recently developed an obsession for Hair Fair Barbie (Thanks to ModBarbieLover's post of a Hair Fair Barbie commercial :P). So being the obsessive person I am, I decided to make up this collage of all the catalogue adverts I could find for Hair Fair Barbie. My favourite image of her is the one with the green background at lower centre. I recently purchased a new Hair Fair head to replace my old one as my old one had been given a trim. She arrived yesterday but I need to treat some spots on her face and I need to tame her hair. I am aiming to get her looking like the one on the green background that I like :)
Please note that I do not own the rights to any images used to create this collage. If you happen to hold the copyright to any of these images I will gladly remove this image at your request.
Equestrian Barbie has lopped the head off of TNT Barbie, ready to send to ModBarbieLover for painting practice :P
Center-eyed HFs. The redhead was originally a blonde that I had re-rooted to resemble a Hair Happenin's Barbie.
Ingrid's outstanding Beautiful Bride Barbie. I really love the makeup on this girl. Ingrid mentioned she wanted a Ginger type look to her and so I modeled her after her! I had a lot of fun working on her and giving her a new vixen look! She has received a full re-root in bittersweet, darker brows, new lips and a beauty mark.
Hello everyone! Here is my entry for many of the tags that have been going on lately. I am also reviving the Black and White challenge.
First we have the tag game "National Portrait Gallery". The rules are simple, just feature as many pictures of your dolls as possible in a collage/gallery style image. I chose to limit my image to my vintage women only. These are all my adult female vintage Barbie dolls in one image. My collection has shrunk hasn't it, but I love all out the dolls I have left.
Next we have the tag game "Blue Eyes". The rules were simple yet again, just pick your favourite doll with blue eyes for a nice photo shoot. Now I changed the rules for this one as it was far too simple. We all know how aryan dolls can be so I made it a little more interesting by featuring many dolls rather than just one. This way it also links back to the National Portrait Gallery tag.
3rd along we have the tag game "Wiggle Dress". I could not find any written rules for this tag so I assumed it was to just post an image of a doll wearing a tight dress. So I decided to show off my new Floral On the Go sheath modelled by my Side Part Bubble Cut "Goldie".
Lastly we have the tag game "Barbie #1 Swimsuit". The rules are simple yet again, just post an image of your vintage or reproduction (new design too) #1 Barbie swimsuit. I dressed all of my vintage gals except for my NRFB Fashion Queen and Goldie in my only vintage Zebra swimsuit (which belongs to my #3 ponytail in the far right image. It was very difficult to dress and undress each doll in that swimsuit as it is very tight.
Thank you for tagging and inspiring me:
Vintage Betty (for "National Portrait Gallery" tag)
ModBarbie Lover (for "Blue Eyes" tag)
Aronas T (for "Wiggle Dress" tag)
Di Alves (for "Barbie #1 Swimsuit" tag)
I am also using this image to revive the Black and White Challenge! To this day I have found this tag to be the most challenging of all. It is surprisingly hard to create a good B&W image. I am not too sure if I succeeded here.
B&W Challenge rules: Take a black and white photograph for 5 days. Don't forget to nominate one or more of your friends per photograph!
Today I nominate ModBarbie Lover for this challenge.
Barbie loves the Fab Four! Debbie Jones sent me this groovy postcard for my birthday (thank you Debbie!) and Barbie wanted to pose in front of it! Barbie is wearing a vintage clone jumpsuit with matching hat. Blouse, tights and boots are all new accessories.
As part of her prize win for Top Model, Tamizin received both the cover of the December issue of Barbie Magazine and a six-page spread.
I wasn't going to do Halloween clothes...time just got away from me. But the Cubs are dawdling about sewing up the championship and I think this is my way of coping. :-P
Take a black and white photograph for 5 days. Don't forget to nominate one or more of your friends per photograph! Anyone who sees this can participate.
Hair Fair Barbie is wearing a Hair Fair brunette flip wig and a vintage Hong Kong clone wedding dress.
I nominate Skipscales for the next challenge.
Dante's Barbie Basic Goddess sculpt blond swimsuit version re-rooted in My Sammy. She is the easiest doll to work on ever, everything looks good on this sculpt. Almost forgot to post these pics!
Ingrid's lovely Living Barbie re-rooted in Looking Glass Blue. I love this color on her, Ingrid did a great job picking this color out for her. It is a very inky blue color, very nice. She has also received new salmon pink lips to accent her new hairstyle. She also received touch ups to her eyes.
I just got a doll I have ALWAYS wanted ever since I started collecting! Busy Steffie! Totally unplayed with and MIB, even with her wrist tag...Though the box has been opened and is a bit damaged, but I got her for an absolute steal because of that and I wanted to debox her anyway! Her limbs are still OK and are still attached, but her original rubber band had melted into her hair so I carefully washed and brushed the gunk out of her hair and re-tied it with a dental band. Her hair is quite interesting, actually... I thought that the top part was all just pulled back into a ponytail at back with the longer back left loose as it is in the dealers' catalogues, but the front/top sections that are pulled back are actually shorter (a little like no-bangs Francie's) and there are two much longer sections at the sides that actually tie back to keep that top part in place. I also love that it's this rich medium-dark brown with these subtle golden highlights that shine in the light, though that could be just what happened over time, which is cool! It's such an odd box too, kinda like a reverse bubble/blister pack at the back and a box at the front! I was also surprised to find that there are THREE sets of identical stickers in the baggie with the instructions for the accessories! Is that normal? That's great as I can use one sheet and keep the others intact. Talking Busy Barbie wants her to come out of that box and play! LOL
Hair Fair Barbie is wishing ALL of my Flickr pals a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2018!
Hair Fair Barbie is wearing a vintage clone gown with a Barbie Fashion Avenue Opera Coat.
Vintage tnt dark brunettes with assorted hairstyles. From left: Hair Fair Barbie, Twist n' Turn Barbie, "Marlo Flip", Living Barbie, Talking Barbie with side pony, Talking Barbie with nape curls
This girl arrived in the post today, She came wearing A clone dress from Hong Kong that is similar to "Movie Date" but red instead of blue. I thought she would look great in Pajama Pow. I also added a fur stole and satin ribbon as the original outfit alone looked a little bare. She needs a name, but I could not think of one. Does anyone have any name suggestions?
UPDATE: Name Jean has been chosen :)
So after seeing Vintage Betty's wish list for this year I decided to do one too. But rather than doing one that I wouldn't stick to, I decided to do the most expensive items on my list. My wish list has gone through a major overhaul lately and yes, I do actually have a large wishlist on my computer with pictures and all of everything I want :P
So, the most impossible items I want in order of how much I want them are:
1. Original Bild Lilli: She is Barbie before there was Barbie. She is so sexy and each one is uniquely hand painted which I find amazing. Also, she is German and I am part German so I kinda want her for that reason too.
2: No Bangs Francie: I am so jealous of ModBarbie Lover's No Bangs I could spit! I wouldn't mind owning her in either Blonde or Brunette as they are both beautiful. My Dad once said he distinctly remembers that orange dress from when he was a kid, so one of my aunts probably had her.
3: #1 Ponytail Barbie: Brunette of course! I have been asked if I would get a #2 and although they are gorgeous, I could only justify getting one and I need that pedestal. I love the hand painted ones with the star iris, but I would rather play it safe and get a stenciled one.
4: Kenner Blythe: Blythe is such an unusual doll, but she is so pretty. There is something eerie yet beautiful about her, I can't quite put it into words. I would love to own a redhead and in as good condition as possible.
5: Smart Doll Eiji Seiun: This one is a little more obtainable. He is a larger doll but he is so cute and I love getting to know different kinds of dolls and how they work. This one should be around $800 AUD including postage. But he isn't as high as the others so he would have to wait :P
Not my photos of course. Should any of these belong to you and you would like it removed just let me know. Thank you :)
Finally finished one shelf in the cabinet. It's a little more crowded than I would have liked but...
For the empty space, is PJ and I had to shuffle the Skippers a bit after this to fit two more Skippers. I also include my Silkstone Francies to this batch as I wanted all my Francies to be together. =)
Also included are my repro Stacey and Marlo Flip. Also my Most Mod Party Becky, who is listed as a repro but is really a first issue of her as she was never produced.
I know if I took out the case there would be plenty more room but I love the case on display too!
