You know it's summer when....okay, I'll admit- Much as I am a spring and autumn person, and winter can also be quite pretty- Mock Orange Blossoms are lovely to see (and smell) in summer!

This bird follows me all over the property. It will sit on a patio chair looking inside until I come back out. Attempts to dissuade it from getting too close have been uneventful. Loud sounds, abrupt motions and the threat of cats and dog have yet to keep it from returning each day.

ORIGIN
Mock orange (Murraya paniculata) is native to southern China, Taiwan, the Indian sub-continent, south-eastern Asia and northern Australia (i.e. the northern parts of the Northern Territory, far northern Queensland and northern Western Australia).
A weed of closed forests, open woodlands, watercourses (i.e. riparian areas), native bushland, forest margins, pastures, disturbed sites, waste areas, gardens and roadsides in the wetter tropical and sub-tropical regions of Australia.
among other names such as rusty menziesia, false huckleberry, mock azalea and fool's huckleberry.

As I was about to photograph one Northern Mockingbird, a second one swooped into the view finder. So, much to my surprise, I was able to get two for one!

I found a nest of mocking bird babies in my Rose bush. I just had to get a photo or two of them, it wasn’t easy because momma and papa kept trying to swoop down and peck me combine that with the thorns from the rose bush and it was an experience.
