Unlike the U.S. (west coast MB), this mocking bird is social. They hang out in small groups. They can be vicious. For example, on came up to my bare foot on a beach and started pecking at it. I let him go to see what would happen. The bird became more fearless over time and more aggressive. After a few minutes it was apparent he was trying to draw blood so I gave him the evil eye and he flew off for a few minutes and then came back to try again.
I later learned that on some of the islands this species groups together and they kill baby sea turtles trying to make it to the ocean after hatching. It's bad enough with sea gulls, hawks, etc. and now there's mocking birds too. :-)
They have an elaborate family structure where young take care of the younger, etc.

Amazing... there is a dude out back pain stakingly putting each little mushroom onto the "egg". You can almost imagine a small caterpillar sitting ontop, smoking a pipe. heh

Crazy mock fish sushi at Joe Yee Vegetarian in Richmond Hill. I didn't like the sashimi that much, but it was pretty realistic texture-wise. Flavour was really mild.
The rainbow rolls and spicy salmon rolls were great though!

All raw vegetables. Mock Cous Cous made from cauliflower. Added in sun dried tomatoes, red onion, mint, parsley, cilantro, lemon juice and olive oil.
