Apparently, a "mock orange" is actually a flowering shrub... and these didn't fall from no shrub.

Last Thursday spectators had the opportunity to watch a mock crime scene play out in the Student Center. The simulation was a collaboration between the criminal justice, accounting, and information and communications technology programs. The scenario involved a gunshot victim with stick drives containing evidence including banking records and ransom notes. It was a wonderful way to demonstrate through one example how the various academic fields and career paths can be closely aligned depending on the situation.

It can readily be distinguished by its yellow flowers, as opposed to the flowers of true strawberries which are white or slightly pink. “There is a bird who by his coat,
And by the hoarseness of his note,
Might be supposed a crow.”
William Cowper (English Poet One of the most widely read English poets of his day, 1731-1800)
I just happened to be photographing something else, when this mocking bird landed right in front of me. And he kept striking poses and whispering, "take my photo."
