On the 19th of August 2015 Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in collaboration with AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Department of Telecommunications and National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) have launched a new mobile application on HIV/AIDS. The mobile application will provide complete information on HIV, increase awareness and risk perception as well as prompt users to access HIV testing from the nearest centre free of cost. Ensuring confidentiality, with bi-lingual facility and easy compatibility, it is expected to reach more than 110 Million people across urban and rural settings. The new mobile App on HIV will be taken to the block level by DoT with the help of BSNL and MTNL to cover rural youth across the country.
Speaking at the occasion, JP Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare said, “Technology and youth are inseparable, however, inadequate access to information and complex messages from various sources can confuse the youth. If we can use technology to guide and educate youth, it can open up endless opportunities to reach the young with authentic information on the services on HIV and AIDS. There is a dire need to motivate, inform and guide them. This mobile application, aptly titled, HIV education and linkage to prevention (HELP), will bridge the gap helping the youth to know their HIV status. It will transmit information personally to each of them which is a step ahead of door to door health services.”
“The National AIDS Control Programme is widely acknowledged for its success. It is vital that we use newer technologies to reach young people with messages on HIV. This mobile application will complement the efforts of early testing and treatment. We stand committed to prevent the young generation from HIV/AIDS,” added Bhanu Pratap Sharma, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Navneet S Kang, Additional Secretary and DG, NACO, stated, “This application will enable the young to assess their risk to HIV and then, take a step forward and get themselves tested. NACO acknowledges the support of AIDS Healthcare Foundation for developing this mobile App for HIV.”
Michael Weinstein, President, AIDS Healthcare Foundation said, “The collaboration is strategic as we intend to increase testing and reach the unreached through technology. AHF’s support for this initiative is a part of our ’20×20 Call to Action’ for treating 20 million people globally by the end of 2020. This we feel can only be achieved by greater identification and technology-based initiatives which can generate awareness about HIV and, thereby, lead to greater testing uptake.”
In 2018, USAID launched the second-annual Digital Development Awards (the “Digis”) to recognize USAID projects that harness the power of digital tools and data-driven decision making. The Feed the Future Tanzania Land Tenure Assistance Project, implemented by DAI, was one of five winners chosen out of the 140 applicants.
Feed the Future Tanzania established the Tanzania Land Tenure Assistance activity to provide an affordable, transparent system of land registration. This activity uses USAID’s Mobile Applications to Secure Tenure (MAST) program to capture locally gathered GPS data, which is then mapped and registered by the District Land Office to provide official certification of village residents’ rights to occupy land parcels.
Recognizing the need for a way to track the sale and transfer of land rights, the project developed the Technical Register Under Social Tenure (TRUST) software, an open source program that allows District Land Offices and financial institutions to record all land transactions and even mortgages, creating a comprehensive and easily accessible digital record of all land rights.
Thanks to this new open source platform, USAID has transferred over 45,000 certificates documenting village land ownership in Tanzania to the TRUST database. This has opened the door for new agricultural investments and provided land owners with increased access to financial resources using their legal record of landholding as collateral. Building on the success, the program worked with the Government of Tanzania to ensure the sustainability of the open-source platform and seeks to expand its use in all districts, eventually using it as part of a national land management system.

It is always best with a new medium to make use of its unique aspects. So do not just make the same old game and put it on a mobile device. Some will... but where you really get something worht-while is when you relate your game or application to location - your surroundings or the people around you.
Here are many examples of this - click the link to try them:

The Eastern Lightning, the Church of Almighty God came into being because of the appearance and work of Almighty God—the returned Lord Jesus—Christ of the last days. The church is comprised of all those who accept Almighty God’s work of the last days and are conquered and saved by God’s word. It was entirely founded by Almighty God personally, and is also personally led and shepherded by Him, and it was by no means set up by any man. Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. God’s sheep hear God’s voice. Once you read Almighty God’s word, you will see God has appeared already.

The month of April was dedicated to raising-awareness activities, training, learning and promotion of professional development of young girls in the Information and Technology Sector (ICT).
The month of joint activities between UNESCO and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications took place in the framework of UNESCO’s YouthMobile initiative. Created in 2014 by UNESCO, the initiative offers introductory courses in computer programming (learning-to-code) and problem solving (coding-to-learn). The initiative targets young boys and girls to acquire basic technical skills and the necessary confidence for the development, promotion and marketing of mobile applications that address local sustainability issues. By 2017, the initiative’s overall objective is to allow at least 25,000 young people to develop the skills of the 21st century to fully participate in addressing the challenges of sustainable development in their communities. The initiative introduces young people to entrepreneurship to create viable employment opportunities in the mobile phone industry and ICT Sector.
Among the activities planned for the month of April, open days in large companies and ICT innovation centers were organized, mobile development initiatives, trainings in coding, and JIGGEN CI TIC caravans throughout the country, which will bring together women leaders in the public and private technology sector with the aim of educating young girls and advocating for increased ICT production and use to further encourage women to pursue studies and careers in technology and innovation.
In this album we present a selection of pictures from Open Door Days, JIGGEN CI TIC caravans, training of young girls in E-commerce and of the International Girls in ICT Day, which took place on 28 April 2016.

Mobile app testing is different from web application testing. Mobile app users seek a lot more than just app’s functionality, like sleek design, simple user experience, and speed. Due to a highly competitive market, users can find a better alternative to an existing app if they are not satisfied with it. Mobile app testing plays a key role in building a quality app as per requirements. There are lots of areas testers and developers should keep in mind while testing.

The mobile application is the core of digital transformation. Now, the customers have the option to choose any other app if they don’t like one. If an app is slow, not user-friendly or is taking too long to load the information, then the customers don’t wish to use it anymore. And they start looking for better alternatives. Any app has to be near to perfect to increase a company’s business in the mobile world. Not only the development but testing also plays a very vital role in launching an app successfully.
