The bad thing is that this little stage was the only booth at the show to present music making equipment (as opposed to music consumption equipment like the iPod and the plethora of accessories for it). The good thing is, it was absolutely state-of-the-art.

I was asked to make a mixing desk cake for a friend who works as a sound engineer. Having no idea about these things at all, I enlisted the help of my boyfriend who was of great assistance!

This one is chocolate mudcake.

One from the archives. David Friend's kit, set up and ready for a show. It's a nice kit, I busted through a door to have a play on it earlier in the day when we'd finished soundchecks and were hours from the show. This photo is from some time back, and not of very good quality, my apologies.

Made for the 40th Birthday of a sound engineer! Large marbled orange and chocolate cake with rich chocolate buttercream filling. Decorated with fondant and royal icings with additional features made from liquorice and edible ink pens. Yummy!!
