I love mixing two different light sources to create interesting white balance effects. Sometimes it can be a curse but it can also create a really nice effect.
This was a reject from week 1 of my Project 52 for 2011. See here for the one I chose.
Got an audio mixer for some long standing projects I've been procrastinating. It will be an interesting experience...
Normally I let the mix cool and rest overnight to kind of let the flavors mellow and mix. I didn't have time. In fact, I didn't even have time to let it cool.
Here's the mixer unit sitting in a large plastic bucket that we used to use to water some cattle. I wanted to make sure that I didn't get salt-water on the wooden deck.
I remembered a comment from Alton Brown about using an ice cream freezer to cool soup before freezing so I figured I would use the freezer to cool the mix and the let it continue on to freezing. It took longer to freeze than normal but that's what I had to do.

Steel frame and hub gears make it a bit heavy but I found it a fast and manoeuvrable bike. The Alfine hub gears was fine for London.
That said, I rarely rode it, since I much prefer to ride fixed. I mostly used it for shopping runs or other tasks requiring use of panniers and rack. Then I sold it.

Week 44
A new lens for a new look. Last week I bought a new film camera which came with a 50mm f1.4 lens. I was so excited to shoot with it but I needed to buy an adapter for it. The adapter came on friday so as soon as I was free, I picked it up from my house and slapped the lens of my camera. I have been exclusively shooting with it for the past couple days and I am really liking it. It is nothing too special when compared to my crazier helios lenses but in terms of image quality it retains a fairly sharp image wide open which is hard to come by in a fast lens such as this. For the price, I am very happy to add this lens to my collection.
I can't wait to see what this next week will bring!
