This is my second time on flickr, I started back in 2012,

I needed a change so I started anew, clean slate new beginning, today, I am pausing and reflecting on my jounery

Being a submissive, I would say authenticity reigns supreme. It is not merely about surrendering control, but about embracing the true essence of who I am. I do what makes me up, delving deep into the recesses of my soul to uncover the raw, unfiltered truth that lies within. It is a journey marked by vulnerability, courage, and an unwavering commitment to self-discovery.

There have been moments when doubt has clouded my path, casting shadows upon my journey, times I felt very isolated and alone, its not easy to pack a punch, as an introvert with a small circle. Society's whispers of judgment and misunderstanding have remained with me, threatening to derail me from the correct course. Yet, in the face of adversity, I have found strength in the power of my authentic voice.

I tell my story not as a mere recollection of events, being in a long term submssive relationship, and engading ofthen in S&M play, I find is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit- my spirt. It is a story woven with threads of passion, desire, and unwavering determination. Through the art of photo stories, I reclaim my narrative, casting aside the shackles of societal expectations to embrace the true essence of my submissive nature.

thank you for 3000 followers, my story continues...

The architect of the Jugen building is my long-deceased great-grandfather. Built around 1900.

With the development of hydropower in southern Norway, the city gradually developed an industrial base, particularly with the establishment in 1910 of the nickel refinery Kristiansands Nikkelraffineringsverk AS (later Falconbridge Nikkelverk, now Glencore Nikkelverk). From an economic perspective, the First World War was a good time for Kristiansand, as a neutral shipping city. The crises that followed with the gold standard politics of the 1920s and the world economic crisis of the 1930s were also deeply felt in a trading city like Kristiansand.

The labour movement had important pioneers in the city, and Leon Trotsky spent about a year of his exile in the archipelago offshore from Kristiansand. Arnulf Øverland took him from Randesund to Ny-Hellesund in Søgne in 1936.[10] In the interwar period Kristiansand was a centre for intellectuals, especially after the architect Thilo Schoder settled there in 1932.

Kristiansand was attacked by German naval forces and the Luftwaffe during the Operation Weserübung on 9 April 1940. The naval forces met fierce resistance from Norwegian coastal artillery at Odderøya. Bombs and grenades also hit the downtown and the 70 meter high church tower of the Kristiansand Cathedral was hit by accident. The third attack attempt on the city succeeded because a signal flag was confused with a French national flag and the misunderstanding was not discovered until it was too late. The city was occupied by a force of 800 men.

Post-war construction included further development of the Lund section, and in the 1960s and 1970s Vågsbygd to the west was developed into a section with 20,000 inhabitants. In the 1980s, industry and business in the city declined, in part because of the 1986 fire at the Hotel Caledonien. But beginning in the second half of the 1990s, business increased in momentum with the development of enterprises for marine and offshore equipment, security technology and drilling. wikipedia

Mother Ivey’s Bay takes its name from the legend of Mother Ivy who was a local white witch who cursed a local family. It lies just around the coast from Harlyn Bay. Cushioned from the wind by the Merope Rocks.

Mother Ivey was a white witch living at the back of Trevose Head, the other side of the headland to Harlyn Bay. A vocal member of the community, Ivey tried to sort out any trails or misunderstandings as best she could. She used her charms and spells for righting harm and wrongs and was very seldom angry. One man who lived in Harlyn tried Mother Ivey’s kindness. Bad idea to try a witch, even a white one.

In those days Harlyn's wealth was in silver, the silver of pilchards caught and salted and sent to Italy for Catholic folk to eat on fish Fridays and in Lent. The silver lined the cellars of the fish merchant, but when the fish went to Italy it didn't fill the bellies of the Cornish fishermen’s families.

A fish merchant lived at a house called The Fish Cellars, still there at Harlyn Bay today, and he had a very successful business selling pilchards. His house had a motto carved into the granite lintel over the door, it said, ‘Profit smells sweet’. In contrast to the success and profit made at the fish cellars, the villagers were starving.

One week, a ship carrying a large cargo of pilchards was returned from Italy unsold. Every villager came to see the ship in, hopeful their bellies would soon be filled. The Fish Merchant took the fish off the ship and up the hill to his farm. Mother Ivey pleaded with him to allow the villagers to eat the fish as it was still good enough to eat even though it could not be sold.

Instead, the fish were ploughed into a field as fertilizer. Mother Ivey was very angry, the people she spent her years helping were in desperate need of the food that had just been denied them. She went to the Fish Cellars and cursed the merchant's field:

"Break the soil, Death will follow,”

And it did. The next year, the merchant ploughed the field and planted corn. A few weeks later his eldest son was out riding his horse, when he fell off and was killed. Profit smelled sour. No one has taken a spade or a plough to the field since, for fear of what may happen. The field lays fallow to this day.

But Mother Ivey's kindness lives on as well as her curse, kindness in the hearts of the lifeboat men stationed at Mother Ivey's bay, willing to risk their lives to save their fellow men from the silvery sea.

I had this photoshoot for a portfolio in order to apply for the « Miss Eels » Pageant.

Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding, my application was rejected.

Actually, the theme of the Pageant was « Miss Heels » ( sponsored by Manolo Blahnik)

Location: Endless: Birdlings Flat

Behind every cloud, every mountain

of each cup, of each branch

there are owls at night.

They hide in the smoke of the pipes.

They feed on misunderstandings

and neon stars.

In the dark they can be confused

the same with those ashes

than with their shadows.

With the twin headlights of her eyes

they walk parsimoniously

the waters of the night

And they talk to the wind.

They sob with the rain.

They are silent with the sun.

For many years this has been a favorite spot for me to visit in the valley where I live.

For reasons unknown, two trees planted apart, growing beautifully on their own yet still together, unified by the rolling contours of the land, the winter wheat and freshly plowed fields.

It has always puzzled me, "Why so far apart?" This is not the norm for trees in this area whose family and friends are often clustered closer together, in little communities of light and life, drawn safe, secure, and, perhaps, with a sense of like-minded belonging away from the bigger land, which they do seem apart from.

Maybe, though, that theme of being apart is really just a misunderstanding...not said and read correctly. Maybe it has less to do with physical proximity and more to do with, regardless of measured yards or miles, being...A Part Of...something bigger and, of course, exponentially more incomprehensible. Not always needing proximity to still be held close by an entanglement of limbs.

I don't really know.

Maybe it's nothing more than a very quiet, pretty site/sight that calls me back...again and again.

Yet in that call, I will not deny, there is an echo of something very ancient...a lingering memory that simply cannot fade.

Feeling Blue for You.

History of May 12th

This year, 2025, marks the 33rd year for International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.

[excerpt] …Despite the efforts of a number of dedicated groups and individuals, there are still vast pockets of ignorance and misunderstanding about fibromyalgia. To this day, many patients are faced with medical establishments, governments, family and friends that knows very little about this condition and are threats to human health. It is therefore crucial that all those who are affected by this illness, including family, friends, caregivers, etc., make their voices heard all year round, but especially on May 12th of each year. – Thomas M. Hennessy, Jr. (1954-2013), RESCIND, Inc

We hope it will inspire you to do whatever you can to help spread awareness and make May 12th a day to remember.

Ashala's account

- Asha's first account

I had this idea in my head for years for a Halloween picture so eventually put it together for this Halloween. I hope it gives somebody a laugh. Happy Halloween...

Asha's second account - Asha's first account

It's talk like a pirate day today September 19th so I thought I do a wee composite picture of Asha in her pirate's outfit and add wee Ashala into the scene. I hope the language doesn't offend anybody as this is not my intention I think in the context of the picture with the misunderstanding of what was said it is funny (well I hope so...). For those who don't speak Pirate "Davy Jones Locker" means a watery grave". This name is the pirate's version of meeting the devil when they die, they certainly don't want to meet Davy Jones Locker in the afterlife.

Your early life experiences have had deeply painful impacts upon your brain, your mind and how you see and relate to things, experiences and people. Your layers upon layers of deeply traumatic experiences have led you to see through tear covered glasses. Though you have faced pain-filled misunderstandings and further harm as a result of some people seeing through their rose colored glasses and acting accordingly, there is still value, truth and importance in your perspective. Just because some people are critical of your thoughts, ideas and viewpoints is not an indication you are wrong, too messed up, crazy or bad. You have a gift of seeing things from a vantage point some people will not understand or may choose to invalidate. It’s ok to be who God created you to be.

A few weeks ago I went outside in the rain to take some pictures and while enjoying my time outside I got soaked by the falling rain. I am new to the world of wearing glasses. At nearly 40 years old I’ve never needed to wear glasses and though I still have 20/20 vision I needed to start wearing glasses 6 months ago. Just before coming back into the house on that rainy day I realized my glasses had raindrops all over them. This transition to wearing glasses has felt like a huge change for me and little things like tiny raindrops on my glasses really changes my perspective and disturbs my vision—slowly over time I’m trying to learn to “see through” the spots on my lenses and it’s still not as clear as all the years I didn’t need to wear glasses. When this happened it reminded me of the concept of seeing the world through tear covered glasses and it seemed like almost the opposite of seeing through rose colored glasses and what an impact these filters can have on us and those around us.

I upset a freshly mown field full of nervous bird life just by my meer presence. I thought I would mark the event with chaotic colours of misunderstanding and regret

Inadequate preparation often leaves us ill-equipped to handle life's unexpected challenges, much like bringing an umbrella to go underwater. This mismatch between our preparations and the realities we face can stem from a lack of foresight, misunderstanding of the situation, or simply wishful thinking. We may plan based on our comfort zones or past experiences, assuming they will suffice in new circumstances. However, life's unpredictability demands adaptability and the readiness to reassess and adjust our plans. Without the proper tools or mindset, we can find ourselves floundering in the deep, uncharted waters of our journey, learning the hard way that what we thought was essential may be entirely irrelevant.

This past May, I took a day hike in the Drumheller Channels. Typically, I'd approach "the columns" from the southwest .This time, however, I came in from the northeast.

Hiking in as I normally do, I stop at the columns and look out over a seemingly flat field towards indistinct coulees off in the distance. But this time, I made my way through those coulees, no longer indistinct, and peered across at same flat field to the columns.

What I found was another world, more rugged than the typical walk, less trod and wonderful for exploration. I also found that the flat field wasn't nearly as flat as first suspected.

Photographed her is a small outcropping of basalt with a gate-like opening looking towards the columns across part of the flat field.

Life is a cycle

It would not be life if everything remained the same

Sadness laced with happiness

Death giving us life

It would not be weather if the seasons did not change

Hot to cold

Dry to wet

It would not be a day if light was not stolen by darkness

You wake to work

Sleep to rejuvenate

We would not be human if we did not err

Doing right wrongly

Wrongly doing right

We would not be in love if we did not have lovers tiffs

A misunderstanding here

An irritation there

Life is a cycle

Today it's mine

Tomorrow your time.

It's a misunderstanding. For years I thought I was just a room and then it became a country. It became a universe and with love and sanity I just found my home within myself. Julia Engelmann, Now Baby

Love is a misunderstanding between two fools.

L’amore è un malinteso tra due pazzi. (Oscar Wilde)

Laubhuette Production M11

The first two tracks were recorded in the main cathedral of Frankfurt am Main during a mass in 1968. At that time, some priests in Frankfurt were reaching out to young people by inviting rock groups, etc. into the service. In my case it was a Catholic priest who had seen John Coltrane perform and was a big modern jazz fan. So he asked Just Music (JuMu) if we wanted to play at the Dom, which is the biggest church in Frankfurt — a huge hall. In still moments of the recording you can hear the priest’s voice celebrating the mass.

There was a Protestant minister also in Frankfurt who sympathized with JuMu’s music. In 1967 he had invited me to play church organ with JuMu violinist/clarinetist Witold Teplitz accompanying on drums, next to the altar. On instruments we had no experience or training on, we both played in a totally free manner. He called it atonal music. (Some time after, a teacher asked me if I still played this “atomic” (atomar) music — he meant atonal music, but I couldn't help laughing, convinced that he had created a more fitting term.) The minister who had invited us was named Dieter Schnebel. He shortly left the priesthood and became famous as a New Music composer. www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieter_Schnebel

Tracks 3 and 5 were recorded at “Centrum Freier Cunst“ / Fuchshohl Studio. These performances occurred a year apart from each other; track 5 features Witold Teplitz playing his violin perched upright upon his knees – as seen in the JuMu TV performance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHHT4OlaDns&feature=channel_page

Track 4 was made at a radio station as part of the series “Treffpunkt Jazz“ (Meeting Point Jazz). I still have the recorded talk with the two hosts, very important guys at that time (one was chief editor of the “Jazzpodium“). They said that they missed form and style in JuMu’s performance (“too free“), comparing us to groups in Stuttgart, the Modern Jazz Quintet Karlsruhe and Frederic Rabold’s group. They had those qualities we were supposed to lack. These commentators really were missing the point: our 100% open improv WAS the form and WAS the style of each tune. A similar misunderstanding of JuMu happened again soon after, at a Duesseldorf concert curated by Sigfried Schmidt-Joos who also missed the point. Nowadays such blindness of the managing VIPs seems ridiculous. But in those days when the split between amateurs and professionals ruled their thinking some critics emanated an ice-cold anti-recognition.

In 1969 we were all young, around nineteen or twenty years old (Herrmann was the exception, at twenty-six). I don't recall any of us being interested in what was going on in the Pop world – it would have been below our horizon. Probably unconsciously, we all tried to look older. We affected beards; Witold smoked cigars and pipe.

The last two tracks were recorded in a Prague radio studio before a live audience, who listened with attentive concentration. After the concert they told us they'd all been deeply touched by our passion and seriousness. This was just after the so-called Prague Spring revolution in 1968, which had been put down harshly by the Soviets. For the audience, JuMu had somehow touched off a profound emotional recall of their political and human losses — a time when all hope seemed lost. (In 1983, I played in Prague again with "Cassiber", and the audience were similarly moved.)

Taking leave. When traditional relationships with sense, sound, rhythm and predictability have been left behind or radically reinterpreted. When exile and misunderstanding have forced you to rethink your affiliations. When you long for new beauty and excitement. When saying goodbye is so incredibly hard. Lord Hutton, a law lord, who was to lead the Inquiry insisted in his opening statement that he was in charge, and he alone would decide what matters were relevant. 'This Inquiry is to be conducted - and I stress it - by myself', he said. 'This means that all the decisions have to be taken by me. Let me indicate now, so that there need to be no misunderstanding, what are the implications of what I have just said.

First of all, it is I, and I alone, who will decide what witnesses will be called. I also decide to what matters their evidence will be directed.

Lord Hutton was assigned to lead the Inquiry into Kelly's death by Lord Falconer of Thoroton, secretary of state for constitutional affairs who, coincidentally, was Blair's former flatmate.

Falconer, was nicknamed by the Conservative Party as one of "Tony's Cronies".

The much-misunderstood Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “The higher we soar the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly.

But don’t those who can’t fly appear equally small to those who fly and soar?

Or, am I misunderstanding the German philosopher again? In saying, 'those who cannot fly', is he not referring to the wingless but instead to those stubborn idiots who refuse to fly despite having wings?

Taken on my photo platform in SL. Sometimes an idea just pops into my head, with little to no explanation needed. A slight misunderstanding as to how to do a juice cleanse.

I carefully angled the camera to keep this PG.

What is necessary now is to recognise our own nature instead of going on being confused.

The ever present Buddha nature is like the unhindered sun shining in the sky, but sunshine never reaches inside a cave facing north. This cave is an analogy for misunderstanding, wrong view or partial understanding.

St. Mary's Island was originally called Bates Island, Hartley Bates or Bates Hill as it was originally owned by the Bates family who were prominent locally. It is sometimes known as Bait Island, probably due to a misunderstanding of the meaning of the name. The island is opposite Curry's Point on the mainland and is connected to the coast at low tide by a rocky causeway. The main feature of the island is St. Mary's Lighthouse which was built in 1898.

In medieval times there was a chapel on the island dedicated to St Helen. Within the chapel was the Lady Light, also known as St. Katherine's Light. The light was later, wrongly, ascribed to St. Mary and, as a result, the island became known as St. Mary's Island. It is debatable whether the light was used as a warning to shipping or was purely religious. Next to the chapel was a burial ground where monks and local people were interred. Traces of St. Helen's Chapel were destroyed when the lighthouse was built in 1898.

During the 19th century there was an inn, known as the 'Square and Compass', on the island, run by a Mr. George Ewen. In 1895, after complaints about rowdy customers trespassing on nearby land, the landlord, Lord Hastings, had Mr. Ewen and his family evicted from the island.

The lighthouse continued to function until 1984, when it was taken out of service. The lighthouse is now open to visitors who can climb the steps to the lantern room, if they wish, or see the Visitors' Centre.

Near the site of the collision of steamboats UNITED STATES and AMERICAN that happened at night on December 4, 1868. The AMERICAN rammed the UNITED STATES and had a deck full of barrels of coal oil, which ignited and burned both vessels. Between 70 and 162 people died and the property damage exceeded $350,000. Resulted from misunderstanding of signals between pilots.

Big thanks to Gwyn who had an idea and we just went with it. Creating a scene around garbage, and a few dumpsters, and somehow making it seem romantic. Certainly a different kind of “junk” than is usually shown on Flickr.

Also, it is definitely one of those moments when I am very happy smell-o-vision never really caught on. If you, like me, remember those scratch and sniff cards at the movies then you probably groan when you stand up…. like me.

All the landscape around the nickel plants is red, even the roads. This image shows the factory from the north. To avoid misunderstandings, sure there is a lot of pollution into the air, the groundwater and the river nearby, but most of the red dust is natural and comes from the ferrous earth. You can find red dirt streets also in areas where no factory is around.

The Prinsehuis was built in 1664. Pieter Post designed the building, he is one of the most important Dutch master builders of the 17th century. The building owes its name to the misunderstanding that King Stadtholder William III would have spent the night here in 1688 on the eve of his crossing to England. In reality he stayed in the admiralty building, a few dozen meters away. Nowadays it is used as a town hall.

Let me take you down

'Cause I going to Strawberry Fields

Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about

Strawberry Fields forever

Living is easy with eyes closed

Misunderstanding all you see

It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out

It doesn't matter much to me

No one I think is in my tree

I mean it must be high or low

That is the catch you know

Tune in but it's all right

That is I think it's not too bad

Always know sometimes think it's me

But you know I know when it's a dream

I think I know, I mean, oh yes, but it's all wrong

That is I think I disagree

...the tiger was granted 3 wishes; some food, some sun, and ... ...obviously, there was some misunderstanding.

I was told by a friend that one of my pictures reminded him of Maleficent...so of course I had to take this shot...my own take on her.

Was she really an evil villainess, or was she a product of what misunderstanding turned her into?

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.

So, for now, I'm finished with the follow-up work for 2019. Here's the last analog image from the series for now; I've already shown a sister image. But, as always, my image titles aren't literal, and above all, they shouldn't be taken too seriously. Very often, I have a cheerful boldness when I publish an image. This is the case here too! Sometimes it's just a caption or a song, and the wrong conclusions are drawn. In this particular image, there was a misunderstanding between three people, and in the end, I was standing there alone taking the picture.

You can see BR232-253 in service with PKP Cargo, carrying a "full lime" from Rykoszyn to the power plant in Turów. Later that morning, the train returned empty, and immediately afterward, the weather must have changed; otherwise, I probably would have scanned even more images from that day.
