“No one can see very clearly inside the heavy fog, no one but the fog himself!”
― Mehmet Murat ildan
I was returning from an afternoon walk in the woods as the sun was setting. The mist began to rise over the fields and when I rounded the corner to look down into the valley towards Beldlam Bottom, this scene met my eyes. Quite extraordinary. On the right you can see the steep road winding up out of the other side of this valley but the bottom of the road is shrouded in mist.
This was back in november when the place was fog bombed for a month. This is only iso 320 but it looks like it is shot at iso 3200:p
What a great morning that was. To be able to walk through this forest with his loved one and the dogs before starting work. That's when the day is saved before it even started.
Wishing you all a great weekend!

This next series of photos continues to show my fascination with misty scenes, all four were taken the same morning, but of disparate landscapes.
This first is a boggy valley bottom, then there will be a hilltop forest treeline, followed by level pastureland and a lakeside scene to finish.
The distance traveled by car from the first to last shot is about 13 miles (although they are all much, much closer as the crow flies) and took 86 minutes, you just have to love the Brecon Beacons!
Misty morning at a lake in Wanstead park
One from earlier this year, can't wait for these conditions again................. :)
Thanks for looking,

Smoke from wildfires filters the sun as it rises over the Gibbon River just before it joins the Firehole River to form the Madison River in Yellowstone National Park.
