This will be my third Autumn on Flickr. (wow!!) By now you know my sighs and tearful posts when the last whispers of Autumn have faded. Ah what a glorious yet so woefully short life does Autumn lead.. I am always amazed and touched by the glowing beauty of Autumn, the bursts of color and life that emerge from Nature even as it's source of life slowly fades away... It is the ending of it's life that creates such an astounding beauty. Most of you who have followed me the past few years are well acquainted with my love and grief for my 20 year old sister, Rebekah who passed away from leukemia in 2010. Her cancer returned in the late Autumn and she was sent home to finish her last days until she gracefully passed away in December. The internal beauty and faith she exuded in her last days was inspiring, amazing! I will always associate the beauty and glory of the ending of life with Rebekah's chapter. She was/is my glorious and beautiful Autumn. And yet you will always catch me wiping tears as the color slowly fades - Autumn tears. Tears for my Rebekah </3

This is a street musician that uses to play in Montmartre -Paris-

I was impressed on the first time I met him. He seemed to be so happy, happier than many people I know that lives in castles. I was sure he was just living the moment, and his moment was full of melody just beautiful ones. The most important thing was the fact that he was making many many people happy. With or without the coins in his case, he never stop smiling, with that wise grin that I will never forget. On my second visit last year I could not help, but share a glass of wine with him before he left.

Each time I go to Paris, one of my favorite place to go in the afternoon is to Montmartre just to listen his songs. Usually he plays many different styles and songs from all eras.

Now he knows me and he likes to play a model for my camera!

This is one of the 124 of 148 picture that Flickr's servers "Ate" for reasons unknown in spring 2023. It took Flickr 3 days and 6 people to get them all back, but the stories with them..my journals and thoughts...were gone forever...

All I have is these pictures to try to remember it all...

I miss my friend Meghan...I miss being on the water with her...just drifting... we were friends and no one ever believed that...

Now she is gone and all I can remember from this lovely image of her and I is her racing down a dock yelling "BOAT! BOAT! BOAT!" as she insisted on buying me one...

I miss my friend so much. I hate those who got jealous of something that never was...so wrecked what was there...

this was one of the last pictures I took of Floydd at Cat Hill Farm, before bringing him down here to the shore before we had to say goodbye.

I've had all summer to adjust to life without him.

The kittens and the kids have kept me too busy to dwell on his passing.

I know when I get back to the farm though, it's going to hit me like a ton of bricks.

I just can't imagine the landscape without him in it somewhere.

He was admitted to a veterinary hospital in Columbus, OH last Saturday where he had back surgery for herniated discs. He lost the function in his back legs late Thursday night following an incident which happened early in the day. Apparently two discs in his back had been deteriorating for some time. One of them apparently made it's way into his spinal cord. He still had feeling in his back legs and was experiencing severe pain (which was actually a good sign since it was an indication to the vets that surgery was much more likely to be successful). He is doing quite well following surgery; he is already gaining some motor function back in his hind legs. However, they will not release him until he is unable to urinate on his own. We haven't seen him since Saturday since he's almost two hours away from home. Please keep Argus in your prayers. Thanks!

UPDATE: We just got a call this evening. Argus was able to urinate on his own today. We can pick him up tomorrow afternoon. Thank you for your continued prayers. We're praying he will completely recover soon.
