A scan of one of the few things in the sketchbook we gave Jamie for Christmas- don't know HOW, but it got wet, so the coloring is different. Somehow appropriate. The title and date she wrote at the top- "Jamie's Sunset ~ 7-16-2009" This was 10 days before she passed away - like a prediction of things to come . . .

Today I have such mixed emotions, and I guess that's obvious form the stark contrast this holds compared to the other picture of the blossom from today.

I am really missing a few people at the moment. Some people I never should miss... who I still love. And others whose memories are still fresh. It's odd, thinking like this after so long.

Yoda died this morning. After speaking to the vet, we learned he had an acute heart attack. It was sudden and I was not ready to say goodbye to my friend.

Bob is away at a conference. Yoda was Bob's dog. They spent every second of the day together. Yoda took care of Bob and gave him love in all times of stress and stayed by his side in the hot sun during the weekends so Bob would have company when he did the yard work. I don't think he could have asked for a better friend.

We will miss you, buddy. Every day.

When I was a little girl, i used to attach flowers on the postcards i created in paper. In one of those, i have drawn a big heart in red, the most radiant one of my color pencils. In the middle, i've written a Happy mom's day with words just recently learned at school. I ran to you with joy and i still keep your smile when you saw what i just have prepared for you. As you still keep this postcard in that drawer of yours. Oh... i miss that............ :)))

Day 112: Two days in a row without much to say. Today I have no words, other than I will miss my friend. We were not very close, we were less close in the past few years than in earlier years...but that doesn't mean that you weren't always in my heart. Your funeral was a beautiful tribute to the beautiful person that we all knew and loved. You will be missed...greatly! May you smile down upon us and your radiant smile melt the cloudy days. You've touched so many of us (or smacked our ass at least ;-P), in so many ways and we'll always remember you.
