having joint custody of Roxy is really hard at times like these when Dad takes her with him on holiday and I miss her like crazy :(
She's been gone for 6 days now...I probably won't see her for another couple of weeks yet but at least I know she's missing me just as much. Dad says she mopes around all day or picks fights with the other doggies.
This is her fav pink blanky she sleeps on. Wherever blanky goes, Roxy follows, but I totally forgot to give it to Dad before he left so it's on my lap right now -sorry Roxy, I bet you're missing it lol

when my younger daughter moved to Cape Town, South Africa last summer - I sent this song with her ...not that either of us is likely to forget, but sometimes having a reminder is helpful on those days when the distance seems insurmountable ...she is due to deliver her second child in August ...and it's killin' me that I won't be there until December ... but it gives us both something to look forward to!

As some of you know my husband is in IRAQ. He’s been gone since March of this year…. Well I guess you could almost say he’s been gone since January…. Since he was away for training from Jan ‘til March and only came home for 2 weeks before leave again to head to IRAQ. The deployment is coming to a close but yet I find myself going insane waiting for his homecoming. Everything stresses me out to the extreme and my creativity has for the most part vanished. He makes everything worthwhile and it just seems without him here……. I’m just empty…..
And to top it off I came home to Visit Family in VA for a few days and end up here for over a week now since Hurricane Hanna and Ike have decided to hit my home. Not that visiting my family is a bad thing, but I guess after being married and living on my own.. to actually be stuck here with so many people in on house….. yeah…. Lets just say I’m not use to being stuck in a house with so many people with no privacy it seems…. Not to mention every time creativity does come wondering back..right when I get ready to capture that perfect shot of the day… finally finding some peace of mind………….. someone is standing over my shoulder with the annoying question of “Whatcha Doing??”
Worked today at my mothers office to rake in a little extra cash for the weekend and called the chocolate factory to make sure they’d be open when I got off work at 5…. I needed chocolate truffles and chocolate cookies for a shot I was planning for tomorrow…. They said “of course we’ll be here.. we don’t close until 6”………..i got off early and got there at 3:00 and they were already closed for the day………..
Finally found some truffles for the shoot at another shop……. Brought them home… left a note for no one to touch……… came back down stairs and they had all been eaten……..
along with the chicken salad sandwich i had grabbed at the local market.( luckly i got my shot with the chicken salad before it was eatten) By the end of the day all i have to myself is the chocolate milk i bought at the market....... except its to thick to actally enjoy....
What a day….
So there is my rant for today…i know such small things to whine about but ........ Is It October Yet?

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

The title and date she wrote at the top- "Jamie's Sunset ~ 7-16-2009" This was 10 days before she passed away - like a prediction of things to come . . .

Today I have such mixed emotions, and I guess that's obvious form the stark contrast this holds compared to the other picture of the blossom from today.
I am really missing a few people at the moment. Some people I never should miss... who I still love. And others whose memories are still fresh. It's odd, thinking like this after so long.
