Japan Supernatural
Nov 2, 2019 – March 8, 2020
Step into the shadows and come face-to-face with an astonishing array of phenomenal beings in Japan supernatural, where ghosts, goblins and mischievous shapeshifters inhabit a spirit realm. See Japan’s folklore brought to life in magnificent paintings, large-scale installations, miniature carvings and humorous illustrations, and explore the vibrant ukiyo-e woodblock prints that define the tradition of the supernatural in Japanese art.
Centred on a monumental installation of painting and sculpture by Takashi Murakami, the exhibition features some of the greatest Japanese artists of the past, including Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi and Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, alongside contemporary artists such as Chiho Aoshima, Fuyuko Matsui and Miwa Yanagi, who continue the compelling creative lineage of visualising the unseen.

Sydney, capital of New South Wales and one of Australia's largest cities, is best known for its harbourfront Sydney Opera House, with a distinctive sail-like design. Massive Darling Harbour and the smaller Circular Quay port are hubs of waterside life, with the arched Harbour Bridge and esteemed Royal Botanic Garden nearby. Sydney Tower’s outdoor platform, the Skywalk, offers 360-degree views of the city and suburbs.

Any time I am taking photos, Sasha loves to be in the middle of whatever I'm doing. She is our most curious and playful kitty. These are a few out-takes from yesterday's daily photo, www.flickr.com/photos/pixygiggles/8250883661/in/photostream/, showing her most mischievous side. Don't worry, I took the Hershey's Kiss away from her immediately after she batted it off and gave her a more appropriate toy. Chocolate is toxic for cats and dogs; so remember to keep your pet's safety in mind whenever you have human treats like this in your home.

Faculty of Xeography and History, one of the most emblematic rooms of the University of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. Its decoration was the responsibility of two men: the sculptor Rafael de la Torre Mirón and the painter José Marí Fenollera. "The set sought to exalt the role of the university as a promoter of wisdom and virtue through the arts, all under the gaze of the goddess Minerva. In this ceiling decoration mischievous cherubs create havoc with Minerva and her arts.
"Radioactive Rotund is a mischievous little scamp. He was sent out by Runcible to find a single orange part (visible in his head), knowing full well not to go near the areas worst effected by the fallout, but does he listen? Well all he came back with was an unhealthy glow, and one again required a good scrubbing."
Four GID Rotunds were painted for ToyCyte, an orange one to give away, and 3 in various shades to purchase! All are one-offs and come in their own glow in the dark boxes.
Check them out, purchase or take part in the competition here: www.toycyte.com/customonday-win-a-gid-radioactive-rotund-...
She loves nothing more than to find accessories and drape as many on her arms and neck as possible. If she can't find the fine jewels that we have lying around the house, she will settle for as many hairbows and headbands as she can get on. Of course, if she manages to reach her sister's purses, that will do the trick too.
A visit to Ralph Court Gardens in Herefordshire.

63 children had fun at the two animal events run by Kim of Really Wild Learning. They handled Elsa the milk snake, Gino the bearded dragon, Lily the royal python, a leopard gecko and stick insects. They watched Pepper the crested gecko jump from Kim’s head and hands and watched Nipper the scorpion glow when Kim shined a torch on him. The event was part of the 6-book 'Mischief Makers' Summer Reading Challenge event programme at Crediton Library.
A friend once told me, that practicing your photograhping skills with a cellphone camera, can still help you improve, and today I was in the right mood.
So I took Charlotte and used her as model.
I'm fairly happy with the pictures, but I wish I was better at editing them.
The title is a perfect description for Charlotte. She has always been a troublemaker, but somehow managed to charm her way out.
Charlotte is a Merry Doll Round Merry.
