Tri-colored Heron - Florida Wetlands
In the Wild - Palm Beach County, Florida
*[left-double-click for a closer-look]
The Tricolored or Louisiana Heron does not swim but wades in deep water. Audubon called this bird "Lady of the Water" because of its grace and beauty. It resembles the Great Blue Heron but is much smaller and more delicate. Its white belly clearly distinguishes it from all other Herons. It strides briskly through the water, sometimes running after fish and catching them with a thrust of the bill. This action is so fast that it can only be caught with a shutter speed of 1/4000th of a second! Their chicks have a reddish coat but turn blue with age. The name Louisiana Heron is very misleading because
it also lives in coastal states from North Carolina to Texas, and especially in Florida. ~ A Very Elegant Bird ~ Fun To Observe
Thank you for taking the time to view my photo,
maybe for your faves and comments, I appreciate that very much!
I can see a new creature in the centre :-) Big ears, and a green hat... original in comments.
Saturday challenge - Create an image using the "mirror" effect. The subject can be anything of your choosing.
An Indian pond heron (ardeola grayii) providing a mirror image as it stands in shallow water. Photographed on Hat Yao Noi, Phang Nga, Thailand.
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Whispers secrets, shadows sprawl,
Reflecting truths we can't deny,
In darkness deep, where secrets lie,
A chilling tale, a haunting call.
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Revealing secrets that appal.
Eyes of darkness, truths concealed,
In your depths, all wounds revealed.
Reflecting a soul's haunting downfall.
Mirror, mirror, standing tall,
Show me beauty, flaws and all.
Guide me through life's winding track,
Reflect the strength that I now lack.

Più faccio il mio lavoro, più mi rendo conto che gli esseri umani sono sprovvisti di buoni specchi. E’ durissima per gli altri spiegare a noi come ci vedono e durissima per noi spiegare agli altri come ci sentiamo
The more I do my work, the more I realize that human beings do not have good mirrors. It is very hard for others to explain to us how they see us and it is very hard for us to explain to others how we feel

Mirror mirror lie to me
Show me what I wanna see
Mirror mirror lie to me
Why don't I like the girl I see
The one who's standing right in front of me
Why don't I think before I speak
I should have listened to that voice inside me
I must be stupid, must be crazy, must be out of my mind
To say the kind of things I said last night
Mirror mirror hanging on the wall
You don't have to tell me who's the biggest fool of all
Mirror mirror I wish you could lie to me
And bring my baby back, bring my baby back to me

Again I played with my 1.4/55 Revuenon, trying to imitate the bokeh of a mirror lens.
Calculational the "aperture" only absorbs half an f-stop but oddly enough the viewfinder looks much darker. Therefore it's very difficult to focus correctly. Also the camera's lightmeter seems to see the picture much darker and tries to overexposure it. I have no idea about the reason...
PS.
The disc is inside the lens, next to the iris aperture.

Whats in a Mirror?
A reflection?
A dimension,
be it size or place?
More often than not,
it's just another face.
Copper, glass and wood grain,
reflecting on the table surface.
Delicately mirrored with its mirrored base.
Creating loops entwined
in a space,
as intricate as lace.
Creating a pattern that
is beautiful in its
mirrored embrace,
a piece of art that
leaves a trace,
on the viewers
inner space.
Photograph of simple elements, copper, glass, cotton, all reflecting on a wood surface, and mirrored.
While the Fellowship takes rest in Lothlorien, Frodo risks a look in the Mirror of Lady Galadriel.
After my previous vignette showed the top of a Mallorn tree, for this scene I built the thick roots at the ground. I tried to make it as organic as possible and got to include the little spring where Galadriel fills up her carafe.
