Reflections in a lake at Sheffield park, Sussex.

Mirror, mirror on the lake. You're the fairest, my breath you take.

Snow Lake, Mt. Rainier National Park, September, 2025.

A mirror studded with semi precious stones, gifted by one of my best friends and I'm so sad that she's no more. This is of great sentimental value to me.

Wish you all a terrific start into the coming week!

Silence Mirrored

In the morning fog, as the Korana retreats into its pale white layers, this old tree stands as a keeper of silence.

Its branches dissolve into the river’s soft breath, and the whole world slows down — just enough for your thoughts to return to you.

In its reflection, like a quiet fracture in time, everything feels softer and closer.

On the stone edge, a fisherman tends his rod gently, as if listening to the river itself.

Fog often teaches us more than sunlight: beauty doesn’t shout… it waits.

This little yellow warbler went from mirror to mirror. I think it liked what it saw.

On the edge of one of the former quarries on Easdale.

One of the most interesting places I’ve ever been to - Easdale, one of the Slate Islands off the west coast of Scotland, near Oban. Easdale was the centre of a huge slate-making industry in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth century - there are Easdale slates on roofs as far away as Nova Scotia and New Zealand. Then in 1881 disaster struck - a huge storm and subsequent massive sea swamped all the quarries on the island. All the machinery was lost and mining had to end.

The quarries are still filled with water today - the mining machinery is still at the bottom of some of them, so they’re quite eerie and a wee bit sinister. And the island is covered with bits of slate, millions of pieces of it. It’s very other-worldly.

The Seals pond has a below water level darkened room with displays of coral lit up by lights. These sculptures ( not real) are mirrored on the ceiling of the room. So I have mirrored the mirroring! HMMM:)) Melbourne Zoo.

En espérant que cela vous plaise. ^^
