I always love National style and take it as personal stylist challenge to recreate well-know or new countries.
Here is my tribute to TURKMENISTAN. Never heard about this country? One of the middle-east ex-soviet countries with rich culture and traditions, has an amazing national female and male cloth. Sadly no one of SL creators doesn't do it as original style, so I did a style mix.
A small gift and a conundrum for all the fellows photographers who will enjoy it.
I have been using an app on my Android smartphone for the last few years - an app called ISS live now, which allow me to watch the Earth from one of the cameras of the International Space Station, following its motion above us. One can take photographs or videos of our precious, beautiful mother planet from space. While I am never tired of watching and daydreaming from such a privileged point of view, I tried to take some shots some years ago, capturing the stunning beauty of a sunrise from space. This is the best shot of that small series, sporting the diamond of the rising sun at the horizon and showing how thin and fragile our all-important atmosphere is.
Now for the conundrum: may I call this one a photo of mine? May I count it as a work of mine? Contrary to my habit of processing my photos, this one is SOOC - not even cropped.
Hope that you enjoy this, both the photo and the attached conundrum... Have a nice Sunday and remind that every day, even the darkest one, may have a little miracle in store for you.

Miracle
I so wanted to stitch these two pictures together into a two photo “mosaic” but lack the skill and/or the app.
After all, I don't see why I am always asking for private, individual, selfish miracles when every year there are miracles like white dogwood.

don't have as many pictures of the LWC as i have of the LBC because she/miracle is a newer addition to our household, as they moved back last summer.
Each season, as the weather begins to cool at the onset of winter, the gates reopen at Dubai Miracle Garden. With more than 150 million flowers in full bloom, this 72,000-sq-m paradise has flowered into one of the region’s most picturesque, sweet-scented destinations for more than a decade now.
The beautiful St. Anne de Beaupre Basilica is located near Quebec City. For hundreds of years, the faithful have journeyed here, hoping to be healed. The sanctuary is filled with discarded crutches, canes and wheelchairs, no longer needed...

I am so happy that I could almost cry this is the first photo of a damselfly that I’ve ever taken in my life. The only thing I did to this photo was crop it. I’m just amazed at how beautiful it came out, I hope you will be too!
The odd thing, the miracle is the fact that I was sitting on the porch flickering and I was admiring photos of dragonflies & damselflies, I said to myself “I haven’t seen a damselfly in this area but it would be nice to see one up close”. This little lovely fly must have been a guardian Angel because less than five minutes my want was granted. This scarlet beauty stayed still but also danced around from branch to branch. I haven’t gone through them yet, this is the very last shot I took.
I may not be able to thank everyone personally but I do try because I do appreciate you looking at my photograph, faving it, or commenting on it. I would love to know what you guys think. I don’t know about you but I’m tickled pink! THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Oh miracle, hier pendant un rare moment sans pluie, Pistache a fait un petit tour de jardin (là elle est sur le petit toit). Je ne me souviens pas avoir vu Pistache dehors depuis des semaines, voire des mois. D'abord il faisait froid, puis il y avait de la neige, ensuite de la puie et encore son petit souci de santé. Donc hier était un bon jour, même si elle n'est pas restée longtemps.
Oh miracle, yesterday for a rare moment without rain, Pistache took a little tour of the garden (there she is sitting on the small roof). I don't remember seeing Pistache outside for weeks, if not months. First it was cold, then there was snow, then rain and her little health issue. So yesterday was a good day, although she didn't stay long.
This beautiful hotel is situated near the beach and has a lot of possibilities to enjoy the vacations. Special for children there are pools and a castle with famous figures, several theatres and much more.
We saw many families with children in February here.

Macro Mondays - Necklace
This is the centre section of 5 linked pieces of a necklace manufactured by 'Miracle Jewellery' based in Birmingham (as embossed on the reverse)
This came into my possession in 2010 and I wrote to the company to ask for any information and approximate date of manufacture. They kindly responded to say.....
"The necklace dates very much from the 1970s but had a short life on the market. The stones are Swarovski chatons and bohemian glass fire opals and moonshines."
MIRACLE Jewellery began manufacturing in Birmingham in 1946 and became a leading British manufacturer of Celtic jewellery, Irish jewellery and Scottish style jewellery.
In May 2013 Miracle moved to Cornwall where it is now made by St Justin, using traditional casting and finishing techniques.

A bit of a miracle getting so close to this species as they are extremely shy and wary. Normally they spot you and hide. However, on passage migration they appear to be much more confiding. They are usually found on desolate moorland and mountain sides but on passage migration they have been recorded on the coast and even in peoples gardens. They will stay if you have berries!

Slightly smaller and slimmer than a blackbird - male ring ouzels are particularly distinctive with their black plumage with a pale wing panel and striking white breast band. The ring ouzel is primarily a bird of the uplands, where it breeds mainly in steep sided valleys, crags and gullies, from near sea level in the far north of Scotland up to 1,200m in the Cairngorms.
Breeding begins in mid-April and continues through to mid-July, with two broods common, and nests are located on or close to the ground in vegetation (typically in heather), in a crevice, or rarely in a tree. The young are fed a diet consisting mainly of earthworms and beetles.

Where to see them
Ring ouzels can be found in upland areas of Scotland, northern England, north west Wales and Dartmoor. When on spring and autumn migration they may be seen away from their breeding areas, often on the east and south coasts of the UK where they favour short grassy areas.
When to see them
Ring ouzels arrive in March and April and leave again in September.

The first national survey in 1999 estimated the UK ring ouzel population at 6,157-7,549 pairs, with further range contractions and a likely 58 per cent decline in population size since 1988-91.
Recent studies aimed at understanding these declines suggest that low first-year, and possibly adult, survival may be the main demographic mechanisms driving the population decline. The large population decline qualifies the ring ouzel for inclusion on the red list of birds of conservation concern.
