Neon Anachronism is an experimental series of night images recorded with an ancient digital camera (the venerable and misunderstood Nikon D2H) and old Russian lenses (Mir 1v 37mm and Jupiter 9 85mm). The emphasis is on lighting, composition and mood rather than technical image quality.

Part of the inspiration for this project is doing more with less - in fact almost as little as possible, since the D2H has only 4.1 megapixels. Nonetheless, I love this camera and feel inspired by it, along with the great and underrated optics of some famous Russian lenses. These particular lenses are well known for their interesting bokeh and other effects, as well as producing some very sharp images when stopped down.

Digital technology quickly becomes "obsolete," but in many ways early digital technology's limitations have a charm of their own now decades later. Warning: there will be noise! I hope you enjoy this series.

Давеча Вчера в мои загребущие лапы попал «МИР-1В» 1986 года выпуска. Состояние около среднего. Есть пара неприятных пылинок (на съемку визуально не влияет), есть немного потертостей на задней линзе. Грустно, что при таком молодом возрасте такое состояние. У меня есть линзы конца 60-х намного лучшего качества. Вероятнее всего основной владелец использовал объектив активно и не очень аккуратно. Но при всем при том, сам по себе «МИР-1В» вполне хорош. И даже эта потрепанность не убила жизнь в его работе.

Давайте пройдемся, слегка, от метро Площадь Ильича до улицы им.А.Солженицына..
