For ODC - Reflection. I love any chance to incorporate water drops into the challenges!

Minions & the Cheesewring 10 October 2018. The bed of the railway that ran round the west side of the Cheesewring. There were many railway routes round here, the last of which had closed at the beginning of 1917, although many had gone as much as fifty years earlier. Bodmin Moor extends into the distance.

Minions & the Cheesewring 101018. The former engine house at South Phooenix mine, now containing a small visitor centre. This was one of many mines north of Liskeard in Cornwall that were dotted round Caradon Hill and northwards onto Bodmin Moor. The main outputs were copper and tin.

Evolving from single-celled yellow organisms at the dawn of time, Minions live to serve, but find themselves working for a continual series of unsuccessful masters...including me.

A bit of a test shot tonight, one of the reasons for heading to Bodmin Moor last week was to attempt some astro photography as it’s on the edge of a dark-sky area, unfortunately there was too much cloud around for a proper go but I did manage to take a 9 shot stack of the mine shaft which is just out towards the Caradon Hill Transmitter. By aligning the 9 shots of the sky, along with the same 9 shots stacked for the foreground it really has bought out the detail in the stars… I now feel I’m ready to attempt some Milky Way shots when the opportunity arises!

Looks like this little girl is not getting any sleep tonight!

“I don’t think we have the right equipment for golf or baseball. “

On the way home the other night I came across these guys in a field. Looks like someone had a great time making these out of the hay rolls.

I've since learned that they are being used to cheer people up and raise money for charity. There have been a couple more made since. Thought I'd share this one for Sliders Sunday.

A small assortment of Minions... yes, I have more than what's here

I tried to get one of the dogs to photograph with bokeh but they weren't very cooperative. I finally found something that would stand still.

Compositionally Challenged Week 45 is Reflections & Refractions.

I found some free Minion wallpaper (as in Despicable Me) online and printed it on glossy photo paper. I then applied Rain-X to an old piece of glass so that water drops would bead up nicely. Then, it was trial-and-error time to find the right distances between photo, glass, and camera to get some clear refracted images. The photo was positioned upside down so the refractions would be rightside up.

More old mine workings in the rain at Minions on Bodmin Moor..

This series of Minions was inspired by my Nerdly-Minion and started as a project for the LEGO Store community window in Raleigh, NC. I meant to put these up on display for the release of the movie "Minions" due in July 15. I think the kids would have liked it.

Unfortunately, for reasons that I can't really comprehend TLG decided to revisit the rules of the community windows and as a result these little guys will probably never see a LEGO store from up-close. Too bad.

Building instructions for the basic Minion can be grabbed from Rebrickable here:

Minions take a wild ride through the city.

I am jumping into the world of blur and imperfection. I shot this with a macro filter attached to the Composer Pro II Sweet 35 Lensbaby lens. It is all manual so this is going to be a learning curve. I am challenging myself to use the Lensbaby lenses for the rest of the month to see if I can learn how to use them effectively. The lens is a tilt-shift lens I missed the focus here a bit but loved the effect of the backlight that didn't show up in any other images. This little minion has been used in many photos, the album link is flic.kr/s/aHBqjzvLzw if you are interested. I feel like I really used to spend a lot of time being more creative to set up shots.

These two colorful guys have become quite an attraction at this sunflower field and farm here in Tn. My friend and owner of the farm came up with this creative idea. The larger Minion is constructed of two round bales of hay. The arms are drainage pipes, the eyeglasses are small tractor tires. The smaller Minion is a round bale of hay with vacuum cleaner hoses for arms and a lawnmower tire for the eye.

A few days ago, I photographed a 57 Chevy in this same field. Lots of fun things going on at the farm.

Prisma De Colores

Got the Minions set (#75551) as a present for my birthday in summer and wanted to be able to build all 3 minions at the same time.

One thing led to another: I bought myself a second copy of the set, had so much fun and there were enough parts left to start to build another minion. So, here's Stuarts friend Dave, of course with a banana.

On the inside is a little kitchen so Dave can make cupcakes and ice cream.

I also wanted to build an evil minion. On the inside there's just a thick jungle and it looks like there's nobody in control.

My husband made me some custom stickers for the purple eye.

More Minion stuff from the 99¢ store. Ceramic mug with 2 different minions and a shopping bag. Nov. 2018.

Please. If I was going to do a Minon SAFS, I'd do a Minion SAFS.

XD

(thanks Vinny and DFI for the idea!).

Yup, you know it, another one for the C4C donation pile (with Ma.Ktober brick!)- we're still pretty low this year, so please consider donating. It's easier than sorting!

Spotted from inside a bus, shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ20, the "minion". OK, it doesn't deliver the IQ of canon 5DmkII, but try carrying that in your pocket :-)

! According to wikipedia minion was a type of cannon!
