About Us
Hanjer Biotech Energies Pvt. Ltd. is an ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 & OSHAS 18001:2007 Company. Hanjer’s decade long experience in multiple locations with varied climatic and weather conditions across India has perfected the process and technology that can be implemented and work successfully anywhere in the world. The principle of the process is to extract usable, commercially viable end-products out of the MSW and create a processed remnant of less than 20% of the input volume, for the landfills. Hanjer has 16 operating plants in India with total installed annual processing capacity of 2.95 million tonnes. 9 more projects with an additional 1.05 million ton processing capacity are in implementation stage.
The use of Hanjer technology has positive impact on costs,
environment and the community
•Reduces the consumption of land for scientific landfill with residue inert
•Reduces air pollution caused by unscientific dumping and burning of MSW
•Reduces health problems around the MSW dumping ground
•Avoids underground water contamination
•Reduces financial burden for MSW disposal on the Urban Local Bodies
•All product extracted and processed are eco friendly
•Minimum content of biodegradable matter in processed remnant reduces methane emission
•Green recycling technology creates eco-friendly product
Green Power from Green Fuel
Hanjer is building a 15 MW RDF based power plant in Galla village, Surat district of Gujarat state in India. The RDF green fuel is recovered out of Hanjer MSW processing facilities. The power plant will be first of its kind in the country to run on 100% green RDF. This Hanjer initiative conforms to the Renewable Energy Policy of the State and Central Government. Green RDF is a clean and non-polluting fuel having very good calorific value and hence there is no air pollution from operation of the power plant.

Public Interaction Objects (PIO) is a series of low-tech participatory objects. They are physical interfaces engineered to create meaningful interaction with individuals in various public contexts. Each object is a composite of various influences. PIO influences include historical and mythological narratives, cultural customs, market economies, and lifestyle, entertainment and commercial technologies.
These objects are designed to ultimately promote curiosity and participation for those that come in contact with them. PIOs also challenge our all too prevalent responses of suspicion and alarm that many foreign objects create. In recent years, our governments have decreed freedom-limiting legislation and in many public contexts - a heighten militarization. There are fear-laden messages channeled daily throughout the media as well. We have been indoctrinated to report these things rather than curiously explore them ourselves.
FS recognizes that we live in world that requires a basic sense of courage and trust in the people and objects that we share our spaces with in order to be free and active. It is also acknowledged that this trust has been horrifically exploited. We do not want to minimize the reality of these tragedies, nor do we condone these acts of aggression. Conversely, we do not want to surrender our freedom to explore, examine, create, share, confront, protest, and disseminate both ideas and objects in our shared public realm.

Pictured: Pendleton wheat grower Tom Sorey uses a sprayer equipped with GPS technology to help him minimize the overlap of chemical applications.
PENDLETON, Ore. – Sometimes you just can’t keep doing things the old way. That’s Tom Sorey’s approach to farming 6,000 acres of winter wheat in Pendleton, Oregon.
“The biggest challenge in this area is going from the old style to a conservation-minded method,” Tom says. “I’m working against a 100-year tradition, where things were always done a certain way for generations.”
Tom is a fourth generation farmer. He took over the farm in 1990, building on the legacy of his father, grandfather and great grandfather. And now, in an industry increasingly reliant on science and technology, Tom wants to find the right balance between tradition and tech to help the land—and his bottom line.
For the last few years, Tom has been transitioning the land from a conventional summer fallow to a chemical fallow system. He’s working with his local USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) to help make the change.
It’s been a challenge so far, especially since Tom’s land only receives 10 to 12 inches of annual rainfall. Even so, he’s determined to find a solution.
“I believe there are two types of conservation: ground conservation and operator conservation,” Tom says. “I’m working to find the right balance between the two. CSP helps keep the ball rolling as I make the transition to chemical fallow.”
Money has been around forever and for a long time it’s been hard for some to keep track of it or to even know what to do with it. From saving, to spending, to minimizing debt; it’s all more difficult than it sounds. Luckily, with the advancement of technology there are a plethora of ways to improve our finances. Whether you’re trying to save, or come up with different ways to keep track of your finances, here are 3 things you should know about money.
Be Mindful Of Scams:
When trying to do more with your money it is surprisingly easy to fall for all kinds of tricks. There’s always someone who’s trying to get your personal information and while it may seem easy to avoid, it can still happen. By keeping a close eye on your bank account or accounts you can be in the know about any suspicious activity or charges you don’t recognize. Today, you don’t even have to leave your home to check with the help of online and mobile banking. As long as you have a laptop or computer you can easily watch your account.
Keeping records of your monthly bank statements helps take it a step further. While mobile banking is convenient it is also common to look past or completely miss some information. Your bank statements show all transactions for the month and aids in you seeing your own spending and saving patterns.
Being Insured:
We all know how important it is to have insurance and you can get it for almost anything. While it is not easy to think about something bad happening, it is always good to be prepared for the worst. Having disability insurance or renters insurance can keep you secure in case of an injury that prevents you from working and from anything that damages your home like a break in or natural disaster.
Not having to come out of pocket during a time like this can keep your finances afloat and give you that peace of mind knowing that you don’t have to worry about something going wrong. Even though these instances are rare when it comes to money you can never be too cautious.
Minimize Your Debt:
Debt is an interesting thing. It’s not always bad but it is never good. Debt from going to college is completely different from having tons of credit card debt. For most, debt is inescapable but there are ways to keep it minimal. It’s fairly simple to go out and get approved for a credit card when you’re in a financial pinch but it can quickly get out of hand.
Keeping your debt at a minimum is a great way to keep money in your pockets. The less payments you have the more money you get to keep for yourself or other important things. It is hard to say when you will need a little extra money so having a lot of credit card payments isn’t good for your finances in the long run.
Money management is hard but there are multiple ways to make it easy. Just one change can make a huge difference in your financial freedom.

With this project, I tried to make a "minimize" photoshop image showing a tiny lady walking under a stream of iced coffee. This idea interested me because we had already tried taking perspective photos in class and I loved the outcome and look of these photos. So I decided with this assignment, I would create my own sort of tiny person photo. To make the work my own I used a photo that I took and photoshopped a lady with an umbrella under the stream. The photoshop turned out a lot better than I originally thought it would be because I got some help from a friend who taught me how to make it look more realistic.

Shooting for B&W goal: minimize the differences
A scene at Pawling's farm, Valley Forge, PA. Using a green 1 filter brightened the green grass and darkened the yellow, giving similar contrast after desaturation. The path nearly disappears, reducing foreground complexity.
Green 1 filtered capture on SP550UZ, distortion corrected and desaturated. Raw was used to record a linear response from the sensor, avoiding color correction.
Irfanview, a wonderful and free little graphics program, was used to straighten and crop the image. It also works for desaturation but wasn't used in this case.
The process of ‘cold stabilization’ helps to minimize how many tartrate crystals will form in the finished wine. These crystals (they look like glass shards) usually show up on the cork or as sediment in the wine. This typically is more of a problem in white wines since they are usually chilled which drives the formation of these crystals. Chilling the wine to the mid thirties for an extended time (say a month) before it makes it into the bottle, can help to precipitate this to the bottom of the carboy. During the next racking (transferring from one carboy to another) the wine can be siphoned off leaving the sediment behind.
Rotating the 5 frozen bottles (thanks to my Dad for and endless supply of empty V8 bottles and Mary’s commercial freezer!) daily seems to do the trick.
