Throughout 2018 I have been busy working on a new photographic project in Scotland using my miniature figurines (the 'Little People').
My main hope is that this new series of photographs will help highlight the plastic / litter epidemic our country (and planet) is suffering from. Littering in general has always sickened me, and the 'Blue Planet II effect' really made me feel like I too could help highlight the issue using my own unique approach.
Earlier this year, I spent several days collecting bags full of plastic and rubbish that had been discarded (or washed up) next to beaches and lochs on the west coast of Scotland, mostly 'beauty' spots. I kept some of this plastic to make my work (recycling the rest) and returned to the banks of Loch Lomond a couple of months ago to photograph my latest series - LIFE IN PLASTIC.
Thanks for looking.

MiniArt 1/35
Mostly done. A few bits and pieces to add and some more weathering. I won't fit the wheels until I've made the base as I want to roll some tyre marks in the sand.
We are GO FOR LAUNCH!
My new interactive eBook is now available to purchase on my website here: davidgilliver.com/product-category/books/
I hope anyone who buys it enjoys the read, and I hope it becomes a really useful learning and teaching resource for anyone who loves photography!
Thanks,
David

- (Blue B.) Hey Krrr, I don´t get it, why did you rush us all here from a nice dinner to see this messy abstract painting?
- (Gray) Yes, Darling, What is so special about this artwork?
- (Irena) ...auhm, well I know what it is, he, he and it is making me blush..
- (Krrr) Stop it Irena, you are probably totally wrong, I have worshipped this painter since I was newly hatched, he didn´t paint erotic art often in his later life the era in witch he painted this master...
- (gray) So Hun! I still don´t get it, what is so special about seeing thi one?
- (Blue B.) I think it is rather pretty, it would fit our kitchen...
- (Gray) no but really darling, tell us some more about him...
- (Krrr) not a lot is known about him, but he seems to have been born in Sweden when the earth still had national states, but some say he lived in Denmark or both, His family was clowns or trapeze artist from England and for one time of his life he lived in the art capital of earth Vienna in then Austria, perhaps during the double Monarchy some say he was a friend of Emperor Franz Josef...
Then he moved back to Sweden got rich and vanished from art history, some say that was because when he had earned his first fortune, he just wanted to live a life in Vienna, some claims he is still alive and living there...
Some sources say that he was really a woman, but I don´t find that credible...
- (Irena) so was he handsome?
- (Krrr) well some say he was a looker as a youngling, but all the alcohol made him look ugly so he would be wearing a mask in his former image...
- (Gray) But I still don´t get it, what is so special about this painting? ...and this artist???
- (Krrr) ...don´t know really, I have most been hooked on the story of his life I have read a lot about his life and art but up in till now, I had never seen one with my own eyes... and somehow since I have this soulful connection to his life I wanted to see one of his artwork with my own eyes, I wanted to smell it, be connected closer in to his history-weave ...and now I have and I actually feel pretty happy...

the art challenges were in the tiny details:
".. I just finished a miniature version of a painting from master artist Paul Gauguin's 19th century iconic artwork of the 'Vision of the Sermon: Jacob wrestling with the Angel,' Completed back in 1888, the original masterpiece can be seen at the National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh." ~Tomitheos

Mini drawing. It’s a rainy, cold and grey day here in Gothenburg today. But bad weather can sometimes be inspiring as well! You know how the saying goes “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… It’s about learning how to dance in the rain” ❤️ Hope you have a great wednesday dear friends! #sannawieslander #miniart #graphitedrawing
