I had something different in mind for this shoot, but between the weather yesterday and certain issues it turned into this! I still like this different outcome, though :) And you probably can't tell, but it was one of the most painful shoots I've done yet, haha.
In three days I'll be flying out to be reunited with my bestie and I couldn't be any more excited! Look forward to a bunch of photos from that trip! :)

Year end's a time for reflection. Many changes since this time last year. Hopefully I'm wiser. Still struggling with not taking some things personally (vis-à-vis Four Agreements) - I've made progress, but still a long way to go. I know it will lead to harmony so it's worth the work.

I have to admit I wasn't super excited to see Acorn Woodpeckers since we have an abundance of them in California....but then, when I saw this woodpecker land on this branch, in a rainforest with a bromeliad plant in Costa Rica...'I changed my mind.'

You know how it is the first time you are exposed to something truly impressive that is completely outside anything you've ever known or experienced -- you kinda sit back inside the privacy of your mind and sound high.

And ultimately: "what the ACTUAL F*** — is that for REAL?!?"
For an instant, you're truly questioning everything you thought you knew and wondering just HOW to make sense of this new idea. I might even get a little skeptical and think someone's trying to punk me...
But eventually it sinks in. Denial over.
Your worldview is now completely and utterly changed.

WIT: Took my lensball, and created a refraction and reflection. Added a bit of texture and blur to represent my mind when it's dark and cloudy.
The obligatory West Pier shots begin once the waves start to pick up ;-)) How much more of it we will lose this coming winter remains to be seen!

I have been round this lake many many times but still get that wow moment when looking as the mountains etc its a great hike for sure. mind you the forcast is for about a foot of snow this weekend at the lake.

Mind branded one of their charity shops uding window vinyls and barrier tape to help celebrate the week.
Just finished a 26 hour 650 mile drive through the Arctic regions of Norway Sweden and Finland. We hit the jackpot in Sweden with full corona of the Northern Lights repeating multiple times. This shot was right in the heart of it when it was going full blast. I didn't know if I should be using the camera or crying. A big special thanks to Antony Spencer and David Clapp for sorting the trip out. And if you want to see the Northern lights, have a top time and start to learn how to use your camera check these guys out. Right need to go to sleep I'm battered!
Ps no dodgy editing in this pic. Slight tweak of levels and noise reduction. This was a small part of what it looked like using a 24mm lens. It was everywhere!

Went on a Northern Lights safari last night. 50 min coach ride south of Tromsø. Best aurora we have seen in 5 years going on such trips. We were a bit worried about there being 3 coach loads of people but we needn't have been worried. Plenty of space at the "base station" to spread out.

Often end up walking to this local park and it would be before sunrise and of course quite dark. So to see this big "pot hole" as it were along the side of the lake could be disaster and end up with camera kit and myself under water..... O.K. not very deep but enough to wreck the camera kit for sure. But this might be a little area to allow animals and wildfowl to get in and out of the lake with ease.?
The wooden boards that were installed a few years ago are now rotten and missing like this section.

I will never use word “f..k” again. I hit the wall when get really mad ! Ask me again why I like Italian temper & temperament!! 😹 . . . It’s not that bad actually!!! My grandparents used to crush everything in the kitchen 😹😹 But on a serious note I absolutely love love love how open & expressive that culture is.
