The title is from the song that came to mind when I was photographing this. Apparently most people think this song is by Eddie Vedder. Here's the original:
While in the Badlands of South Dakota, we had the unexpected pleasure of finding 4 newborn bighorn sheep lambs. I will have more photos of them to share....This tender moment caught between a mother and her lamb touched me deeply. The umbilical cord is still attached to the baby. This one is probably a week old.

This is my only surviving Sunflower which is in full flower now in October!
So what it lacks in size, it makes up for in resilience.
Earlier in the year I had trays of young seedlings and one by one they were eaten by slugs and snails during rainy spells.
This is the last one standing at about 1m tall and then one day I looked and my heart sank when I saw that the head had been eaten off!
As you can see, the plant carried on growing regardless and made three more flower heads.
This song has been in my mind often these last few days through Storm Babet with red weather warnings in place.
So sorry for the people of Scotland and other parts of the UK who've suffered with flooding.

There used to be narrow gauge railways on almost every level of the quarry. Few traces remain of them, this being the most prominent where the edge of the quarry gallery has fallen away from under it, leaving it hanging out over a chasm several hundred feet deep. The railway was suspended in thin air for a while but totally collapsed and fell away a number of years ago. But that's not before some loons crossed it while it hung in the air. Bordering Martin Place in Sydney,this is part of the light rail construction scene in George street.Taken from a low angle and looking up,it appears his head is in danger of being clobbered,the reality though was quite different

De Zalmhaven, Rotterdam. With 215 meters the highest residential building in The Netherlands. So one can assume it is standing upright. However, with Erasmus bridge in front, it seems like it's falling over...
