This Miller Ford Indy race car has led an interesting life. Although it was not as successful as Harry Miller's other efforts - its best finish being 3rd place in the 1939 Indy 500 - it's an amazing example of the beauty that went into race car design of the period.

The current owners turn some laps in the car, still sporting a period-correct Ford Flathead V-8, at the Milwaukee Mile during the annual Harry Miller club meet in 2013.

Ella Annie Miller, alias Williams

Conviction - 3/5/1926

Offence - Larceny

Sentence - Acquitted

Charged with the offence of larceny in March 1926, it was alleged that 23 year old Ella Annie Miller of medium complexion and grey eyes, otherwise known as Ella Williams, stole a cabin trunk, a quantity of clothing, and jewellery valued at 40 pound from a Miss Hudson. Miller denied the alleged crime and the case was ultimately heard before the Criminal Court. The prosecution said that the accused Mrs Miller met Miss Hudson in hospital and they became friendly. When Miss Hudson left on a holiday to Kulpara, the accused was said to have removed the effects of Miss Hudson from Hudson's motor car. The full effects of the alleged clothing and jewellery theft consisted of a gold pendant, a silver servitude ring, three costumes, stockings, a jumper, a skirt, four hats, two dresses and two handbags.

The hearing concluded in May 1926, before Justice Poole and after a short retirement the jury returned with a verdict of not guilty.

If you ever get an opportunity to participate in a private tour of a major league facility, do it. Getting to see the innards of any large building is cool enough, but walking along the arch of a rectractable roof 260 feet above home plate is nothing short of spectacular. As you can see in this photograph of Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI.
