Happy Wednesday! Hope you all enjoy this pic, it was fun to make. (Pretty much anything with the Falcon is fun to make) :-)

The Millennium Falcon is still the coolest spaceship in the galaxy! Now with my updated version (Mark II) for 2019 it features even more details and accuracy. The model is mainly based on the 32" ILM filming model.
With the release of the new UCS Lego Set 75192 – finally a new cockpit mold with better proportions and details was available.
Also the right time to overhaul my 2015 model and incorporate some exciting new features like a full interior, detachable landing gear, new mandibles design, radar dish and hull details. I also had the chance to fix some flaws in my original design.
Measuring: 82 cm x 54 cm x 23 cm
Parts count: approx. 12´000 pieces
I hope you like the special modifications!
Thanks MB
I’ve been messing around with my camera again, trying to find the right balance of shutter speed and ISO to get a crisp photo with a tiny aperture. The little stud-built figures are about double the size they should be, but I feel like I’ve hit the micro-scale limit! I’m thinking of adding these figures to all of my ‘bigger’ micro ships, price is an issue because of colour availability, I’ll keep working on that. The Falcon contains 561 pieces.
The main purpose of this build is to display it on your desk or shelf, so I built an additional all-black stand to securely display the Falcon in an angled position, featuring my own logo.
I designed additional Landing Gear and a removable Landing Ramp to display the Falcon on it's own.
Very important for me was to design the Falcon and display stand in a very sturdy and robust way, so you can really swoosh around the Falcon without having to worry about the stability at any point.

"It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs*.
Despite her humble origins and shabby exterior, the Millennium Falcon has played a role in some of the greatest victories of the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic. The Falcon looks like a worn-out junker, but beneath her hull she’s full of surprises.
It should be noted that a parsec is a unit of length/distance, not of time. Apologies to George.

I updated my earlier model size comparison lineup (www.flickr.com/photos/aalpern/39624193195/) to include the Slave-1 and Lando's Falcon. All models are Bandai 1:144 scale, with the exception of the B-Wing, which is from F-Toys.

The millennium falcon is still the coolest spaceship in the galaxy! This is why I have always wanted to build my own version! Inspired by Mikes, WIP-images, I was encouraged to start my own project.
It took me a whole year to accomplish this build (including planning and collecting bricks). Net building time 240 hours.
My main goal was to present the model in a flying position, which was a huge task. Due to its internal framework it was not possible to include an interior, but I was able to fully lighten the model. And there was still enough space left to include a detailed cockpit (with 4 seats), gunner’s platform and a lowering ramp. Credits to EB member ScottishDave for his original design of the radar dish.
Measuring: 82 cm x 54 cm x 18 cm
Weight: approx. 9.2 kg

I am proud how this creation came together – I hope you like it as well.

Hey guys,
Hope you are all doing great, as of 2 weeks now i reached 1,000 followers on Instagram, i'm almost at 600 on Flickr & i've sold over 100 instructions. I honestly have no words, i know it's quite cliché to say that but i mean it.
I've been customizing for over a decade now, waay before i even knew what social media was i loved taking figures and making them more accurate, or create my own figures, i've always been a introverted person, because of that i was really afraid to post my "MOC's & Customs" mainly because of the response i would get, i remember that around the time Age of Ultron was out i checked my Flickr and i saw all these amazing figures by Ross, Dylan, Yale, Hugo and many others and the creativity, detail and passion that they put on each one of their figs, it just inspired me to go out and start posting and start creating.
I will never forget the first few people who followed me, comented on my pictures, faved them... if it weren't for you guys and your support, i doubt i would be here, all the feedback i got i took it to heart (still do) and i tried to improve the most i could.
As i started to become more "known" i started to meet people who were as passionate for the things i loved, we formed a League and that's when i truly started to love what i do. Knowing that more people enjoy doing custom figures and build stuff, that ment a world to me, i was always a weirdo to everyone around me, but i wasn't alone anymore...
It's been 3 years since i returned to this hobby.. well idk if i can call it that anymore, i've learn a lot of stuff since then, i've grown as a customizer but most importantly as a person and it's all thanks to you guys !
I seriously can't thank the almost 1,600 who follow me on social media enough, it's quite heartwarming to know that all of you guys like my content and look forward to it, i hope i can still do this for many years to come !
And i want to thank: Wavy, Hugo, Rodrigo, Jacob, Dylan, Caleb, César, Aaron, Chris, Brickophilia LiLmeFromDaFuture, Red, Jaymes, Luke, Mumu, JSparky, Legowolf, Shane, Señor Brick, Cortes Connor, Liam, Tom, Delta, Sander and many more who have helped me and inspired me on this journey (sorry if i didn't mentioned you).
Mad props if you read all of that !
Also dropped some teasers of stuff i've been working on for the past 8 months, hope you spot them all ! ;)

Hey guys !
After quite a few months of finishing this figure i'm finally posting him, here's my custom Chewie.
Now, as part of my ongoing Millennium Falcon project i am making minifigures for it, as such, i absolutely had to do Chewie.
I went for a very... Lego art style with this one, rather than some of the more realistic (and better) Chewies i've seen you guys do. As such the sculpt is very simplistic to match the original chewie sculpt. The paint job was relatively hard to pull off since it had to look like furr.
I fully kit bashed the bowcaster, which could be better so imight end up buying a 3rd Party one, but it should do for now.
I hope you all like this figure.
Also if you've seen SOLO, what did you thought of it ? (SPOILER FREE)
Have a Bricktacular day and May the Force be with you.

Hey guys !
I am very happy to show you a figure that has been in the works for quite a long time, my ESB Leia.
This figure was planned ever since my Millennium Falcon project started production (2 years ago), since the crew of it will basiclly be the ESB crew, not only that but the Hoth outfit has always been one of my favorites.
However it took my quite a while to get this figure going, but here it is.
The vest is 3D and removable, the rest is 100% painted, which wasn't fun to do at all, especially the "padding" on the legs and arms, but i am more than pleased with it.
I had a hard time figuring out if i was gonna use a printed head for her or if i was gonna paint one, while i was thinking about that the UCS Falcon got announced and i thought that head was perfect, of course i couldn't afford it, so i based this face off of that, and i gotta say this has to be one of my best painted faces, really happy with the way it turned out ! (Altho the lips look really off in this picture... *sigh* i really need to get a camera)
I hope you all like this figure as much as i do, if you have any thoughts please leave them below !

This is a new edit of a previously uploaded photograph. I made it B&W originally, didn't know which would work better. The colours never really appealed to me until yesterday when I tried to re-edit this a little.
There is a reason for this post, a reason that does not come from merely re-editing old photos. See, in the upcoming few days you may see #Helsinki in your newsfeeds more often than usual. That is if you follow the likes of CNN, BBC, Associated Press, Reuters, NBC etc. I'd like to offer some alternate views to my hometown over the weekend, something different in case you need a distraction from #TrumPutin. Yeah, that show is coming to my hometown next monday.
I’ll be posting my Helsinki photos to my Twitter account because most of them are already here. This one, however, appears in color for the first time, hence a post. It's a view from the rooftop terrace of Hotel Torni on a lovely foggy October night in 2013.

One thing i knew i wanted from the very beggining was to have the greebling on both sides asymetrical, which means that both sides have different details on it. as i mentioned i used a variety of pieces and techniques to detail the model so have fu looking at it !

I was honored to have the opportunity to photograph the gorgeous and fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, the LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon for the cover of this month's issue of Blocks Magazine Punch it Chewie!!
The magnificient Millennium Falcon somewhere around Ord Mantell.
It is soon time to come back from the break I've been having. It's been long, too long. Just a few weeks more... Meanwhile, before returning to normal shift, a simple dark/light study of the Falcon scale model, this time with landing gear retracted.
I tweaked (rather heavily) an old photo for this one, I've messed around with the landscape to give an alien or other worldly feel and completed an overhaul to the blurring on the Falcon. It's amazing to see how much change there has been in my Photoshop skills in the past year.

The fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy just joined my Midi-Scale ship collection! Here comes the Millennium Falcon from Episode IV – A New Hope.
Made of 2,178 pieces, measuring only 34cm and weighing almost 1kg, this compact yet dense Falcon was another unique challenge at this scale. After seeing some great-looking Figscale MOCs of this tricky ship, I couldn't resist making a Midi version.
With this design, I took a different approach than most other Falcons out there, and wanted it to look as sleek and gapless as possible. This resulted in a pretty elaborate and unique mix of paneling techniques that involved a lot of SNOT building.
One of my priorities was to faithfully reproduce the curved saucer shape on both sides of the ship, and not only on top. As a result, the build features all the details and shapes of the original 1977 studio model, from top to bottom.
The overall thickness of the ship was another concern. I wanted it to be as thin as the original, while being able to sandwich some tasty greebles and even the hyperdrive engine bay inside the saucer.
The Falcon has two display modes, "in-flight" with its canted stand, and "landed" with easy-to-install landing gear. It also includes a working ramp.
► Instructions for the Millennium Falcon are available at BrickVault!
I have posted a few shots from this area already, but this is my first that is your standard sort of framing for the scene. It is a no brainer kind of shot but still a lot of fun to edit as it just looks really awesome (minus the blue lighting… but I digress.) I did a bit of dodging and burning to bring even more focus on the Falcon and hopefully differentiate the shot at least a little. Thanks for looking!
The Millennium Falcon is one of the most famous and original spaceships ever designed. It's asymmetrical which was rare before it came along. Here the Falcon shoots up against Tatooine twin suns backdrop.
One of four Star Wars spaceship posters I made the other night. They don't really work side by side as a series, they are designed to work as individual posters, variations of the theme.
These posters are really not much you've not seen before, by that I mean that they are channeling the works of numerous other designers before me, like the always wonderful Justin Van Genderen and Sana Sini, to name some. I tried to avoid direct copying (I don't like that), but at some point I realized I cannot make these that much different after all, originality is hard, but I try.
EDIT: June 30, 2013. Well, it appears I literally was not the first to come up with this sort of stuff, I never thought I was to begin with, but I ran into Christopher Paul's poster design that is too similar for comfort. And it was there a year ago already! Dangit!
My FB page for more static, if you like.
Finally I can present the finished stud.io MOC.
As you may noticed, there are some minor updates. I am pretty happy with the result. It also worked out quite well building this in stud.io. I think until i didn't rebuild the Stud.io version in real life (a simple instruction file is available now) , so there may be hidden conflicts .
But I already want to share the file with you. download at:
Bricklink: download model + instructions
Rebrickable: partlist + instructions pdf
If you like to try yourself I what love to see your modifications! In my opinion this model is still "basic enough" to change or replace certain parts.
Now the key facts :
Total Bricks: 3356
Demensions : 56 studs long (44,6cm); 41 studs wide (32,8cm) and 27 studs high (22,2cm)
The replica of the Millennium Falcon at Launch bay is quite incredible but the case its in is full of fingerprints and there was dust speckles on it. The only good way I found to photograph it was to lay on the floor and shoot up. I got some strange looks from lots of people...

Thanks for looking. I appreciate feedback!
Millennium Falcon docked at the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu inside Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida on Monday, September 21, 2020.
Merged four photos in Lightroom Classic to create this panoramic image. Not the best as I did it hand-held but I like it.
