There was a nice calm weather here in Helsinki today morning.Almost everything in nature is in hibernation,waiting first signs of spring.

RHS Harlow Carr. This superb shrub is a delight throughout the year. These beautifully coloured leaves eventually fall and then the plant lights up the winter garden with it's vivid fiery coloured stems.

Another Winter Solstice; here's to the days getting longer after today.

Temperatures down to - 22 degree C in the Netherlands last night..... Winter has set in! The outer banks and meadows look so different now they are frozen.

There was a very very cold morning here in Helsinki,Finland.It was freezing -25c and air humidity was high,so it felt like -35c.

We had strong winds last night for our winter solstice celebrations. This "Jack Frost" young lady on stilts came close to falling over but just held on!
