Humming birds have always fascinated me and one of my photography goals was to learn how to capture them. I am self-taught and it has been a long journey.

☼ These people in paper suits can stay for long minutes without moving, like statues. So when they start moving, many passersby are surprised and jump ... it's pretty funny. On an island in the sun, called Cayo Santa María, in the Jardines del Rey archipelago in the north center of Cuba.

Today I headed out to test my new Gorillapod. Apart from almost dropping it off the bridge, I really enjoyed using it.
Midday long exposure of Brisbane City.
Thanks so much for looking, have a great week everyone!
Two young Balinese hanging out in the shade at mid day near a spirit house or shrine at a road in Candi Dasa, Bali.
Cloths wrapping the shrine and umbrellas designed in a checkerboard pattern symbolize the relationship between good and evil, which they believe must always be balanced.
I took this photo in 1990 with an analogue "Yashica Samurai“ (half format) camera and Kofak Gold 200, IDO 200. Late scanned with the Nikon Coolscan LS IV ED film scanner.

I love this time of year for beach photography, as it is so much quieter. Conditions on this day at Bedruthan Steps were ideal.....low tide, very little wind, and good cloud cover, which enabled me to shoot directly into the sun for lots of contrast. Venturing out on the wet sand as the tide drops, is great for capturing reflections...CD's essential for tripod feet !!! The downside to this location is climbing back up those flippin steps with all the gear....they are brutal !!! Comments will be very much appreciated..... have a great day.
Look at what wind and water erosion can do.
We were very fortunate to visit Upper Antelope Canyon during the midweek and at mid-day just a few weeks ago. I was purposely looking for a noon time slot because I heard the light pours into the canyon better. Only 4-5 months out of the year does the light shoot through the canyon like I captured it in one of the images below. I have to say our guide for this tour was absolutely phenomenal. She showed us many great angles and took an enormous amount of time allowing us to get our shots. We both came away just floored at this amazing slot canyon. If you were ever on the fence about doing Antelope Canyon, it has to be a resounding yes from me. I've seen negative reviews about how they rush people through it but it was not the case for us.
They don't allow "photography only" tours anymore nor do they allow tripods. Many of the areas were very dark. I was shooting enormous high ISO settings. Looking back on it there would have been some things I would have done differently with my photography tactics but I'm happy with some of the images I was able to obtain. Hope you enjoy.
