Yes! It is a microSD card and at the bottom side an SD to USB chip converter on the cheap epoxy drop "package". Probably it even uses the SD card under the SPI protocol but I didn't bother to check!
This is the trend in order to save cost in the Chinese made USB sticks. And it works great!

Two awesome things arrived today. The first is this - the Renesas RX62N development board, loaded with a powerful 32 bit processor, LCD screen, Ethernet interface, USB interface (host, device or OTG), serial port, MicroSD card, audio output. Really, just about everything you could ever want in a 2010-era consumer gadget, all there to be played with - except, curiously, the power adapter to turn the damned thing on. Which I now need to find / order / get delivered.
The other awesome thing is my Glif iPhone 4 tripod mount / stand, not shown here holding up the iPhone on a small tripod to take this photo.
