My entry to the Brickset.com 60 Years of the LEGO Brick competition is a microscale version of set 6973, the Deep Freeze Defender. Released in 1993, this was one of my first really big (for the time ) LEGO models. Between my brother and me, we ended up collecting the whole of the Ice Planet 2002 range, but this was my favourite.

My microscale version splits into four sections, just like the original. I've also included the mini speeder which was housed in the hangar in the rear module, and the satellite attached between the two cockpits. Unfortunately there was no way to house a rocket inside the central module at this scale, but I'm still pretty happy with the result!

a micro Barbatos. It has (almost!) full articulation (the knees don't bend far enough for my liking) I had to redesign the chest many times till i settled on that solution.

Series 5 Micro fighters 5 variations around a similar center.

So this is why it's so hard the Spacetruck work.

Designed and built by a student in one of my LEGO Micro Design classes.

In it's Raptor form the chameleon can lift weights and transport them in land.

A plateau that could be the remainder of a volcano in the desert, with nice forests on it and an Elven castle.

The Cherry has a big cargo capacity, and a quite good speed trough their size.

This is the Death Star in the all new Mega Micro scale. Top view.

In this scene I wanted to recreate the iconic Death Star trench run. As you can tell in the side view picture, this is just after Luke assumes command of the third wave in the trench. Behind Luke, you can see Biggs and Wedge giving cover. Just a bit behind them, you can just barely make out Darth Vader and his two wingmen giving chase. If you look really closely at the top view, you can just barely make out Han Solo returning to help save the day, although he is not yet in range to shoot at the TIE Fighters. At this point, Luke is still about 20 kilometers from the exhaust port. The hardest part of this MOC was getting the look of the Y-Wing wreckage amidst the defensive cannons on the edge of the trench.

One of the most modern ships in the Imperial Navy, the Vesuvius-class is a heavy cruiser which places on emphasis on area denial. Unlike most Imperial warships, its main offensive striking power comes not from energy-based weapons but from missiles and torpedos. These are held in replaceable silos which line the outer hull, and missile types can be swapped and reloaded via an internal rotating weapons bay.

The cavernous interior is full to the brim with munitions, ensuring the Vesuvius-class can remain on-mission for long periods before requiring a reload. However, Veerman-Vocke recognized the potential for disaster if this internal chamber was breached. Therefore, fire-suppresants and segmented bulkheads were heavily utilized, but the primary means of security are the ten feet of armour layered onto the outer and inner hull. This massively increases cost and build time, but it allows the Vesuvius to absorb an incredible amount of punishment from enemy fire.

The Vesuvius first saw use during the Second Black War, where it surprised Union and Republic ships alike with its resilience and firepower. Only the Alabast Raid finally provided the Alllied forces with schematics and a means to exploit the weaknesses of the heavy cruiser's design.

Following the bold raid by Republic Marines which ended in the destruction of the RIS Cerberus, Veerman-Vocke was ordered to reduce the missile complement in favor of adding more plasma turrets and laser barbettes to the Vesuvius-class. It is thus possible to distinguish between older and newer vessels of this type by what primary armament they use.

My take (aka copy) of Ryan Olsen's excellent Azon Destroyer "Conquest"

Continuing this week's microscale theme, I also built a micro Razor Crest.

While the shaping isn't perfect, I think it turned out pretty good, and I even managed to make the ramp functional.

constructed using part 40607 Rubber Band / Belt Holder 6 x 3 x 3 which was considered to be unusable and not worth selling in a BL discussion. The ship is sandwiched around the holder and is stressed because of the 2 to 3 stud angle.

...five minutes after the render finishes it's got a new profile and doesn't look so much like a camel anymore.

Height is necessary; there's three engine ports at the back.

One's hidden by the tail.

Haven't statted it out- don't know much about Aerotech -but at a guess I'd say it's about 150 - 200 tonnes.

The song linked to in the render isn't quite accurate; it's a conventional aircraft, not an aerospace fighter- technically if it were space-capable it'd be an aerodyne Small Craft, as fighters max out at 100t -so it's restricted to atmo.

Or maybe it's a super-microscale landing craft, and mecha would be two plates tall at this scale. Either or. Probably just a bomber, though.

This is a popular type of spaceship of the member of the Tilian forces, because it's both good for Fight& Flight!

Micro Air & Space Museum!

Micro airplane, kind of looks like an S-3 Viking but is way too big. It's supposed to be a transport.

Ovenntrie Castle is situated on an island off the coast of the Elvish kingdom of Hesperia, representing the closest human encroachment to that fiercely exclusionary enclave. It is the only point of outside trade for the elves, and a lucrative source of income for the humans who keep the castle and town.
