氣象每天都報大雷雨, 但是幾乎都沒下, 有下也沒幾滴...😥
開始拍攝生態微距以後, 才真正體會到 "風調雨順" 的重要性, 印象中有一年是持續暴雨, 可能把蛙卵都沖走了, 後來的蛙況很不好, 有一年則是都不下雨, 太乾, 野外蛙類賴以繁殖用的水坑都乾了, 蛙況也很慘, 好像連各類食草都枯死大半, 連帶的蟲況也非常差, 今年入夏後, 北部雨水真的太少了, 希望多下點雨吧...😥
面對這些極端天氣, 人類還可以躲在室內妥妥的開暖氣或吹冷氣, 但對於野生的生物來說, 一點點氣候的改變, 都可能帶來毀滅性的打擊...🤔

拍攝生態到現在已經4年左右了, 但其實還是有許多生物種類都沒拍到過, 其實我個人比較不會特意去追或找某種生物, 主要還是以隨緣的態度, 有看到甚麼就拍甚麼, 這隻紅星斑蛺蝶, 也是今年我才第一次拍到.😍
覺得就好像台北樹蛙, 有時候刻意的去找, 反而甚麼都找不到, 而抱持著隨緣不強求的態度, 該你拍到的時候, 它自然就會出現了.🤔

在民間信仰中, 百步蛇常被看作是神, 而黑眉錦蛇就常被當作是仙了, 確實這種很優雅的蛇種, 氣質和其他的蛇完全不一樣, 身上的花紋從頭到尾會有三種幾何變化, 相當不可思議, 在台灣著名的幾間蛇廟之中, 花蓮縣光復鄉的仁壽宮, 供奉的正是黑眉錦蛇.😘

這天遇到他也是非常好運, 拍到深夜, 原本大家已經打算從聖地撤退下山回家了, 我退到山谷中的大橋邊, 覺得天氣不錯, 想要拍張星軌再回台北, 這時已經先下山的某仙突然急忙打電話來, 說在下山的路上遇到了黑眉錦蛇, 夭壽, 我還沒拍過的啊~ 於是立馬騎車衝下山去拍, 拍完後, 我又騎回山谷拍銀河和星軌, 果然回到家時, 天又亮了...😅

When I was going through my images of this particular bronco ride, I was struck by 2 different looks. In mid-flight, this horse was a specimen to be admired. But when on the ground, you could see the effort this horse was making and there is a definite sense of pain.

Warsaw Flow 1
I've had a small project percolating in the back of my mind for the past month or so, but I wanted to complete my recent urbex project before starting this one. I was lucky enough to explore a local park with a friend just after a fresh snowfall and we found a number of nice little potholes exposing the flowing stream underneath. It was a nice moment of serenity.
Hardware: Olympus OM-D e-M1.2 with the m.Zuiko 25mm f1.2 Pro lens and NiSi Natural CPL, handheld - 25mm | f4.5 | 1/4th | ISO200.
Software: Initial RAW processing handled by DxO PhotoLab 4, then pushed to On1 Photo RAW 2021 for finishing touches.

[ 微距的風格 ]
即使是拍攝實際大小不過數公分見方之內的 "小場面", 微距攝影還是有許多不同的表現手法與風格, 有些人喜歡講究燈法和柔光, 有些人鍾情於珍稀物種, 有些人則是醉心於放大倍率, 有人偏好寫實風格, 有人追求夢幻散景, 而朝著一個方向走久了, 就會和其他種類的攝影一樣, 慢慢出現所謂攝影的個人風格.🤔
如果要為我自己的微距攝影風格下一個註腳, 我覺得我應該是在追求一種真實存在現實世界中, 卻有如卡通一般輕鬆有趣的畫面, 或者拍出生物 "擬人化" 的一面, 比方說, 設法將面無表情的樹蛙拍出表情, 或者很多人都怕的蛇, 也要讓他拍起來可愛或帥氣, 希望透過這些照片, 能讓大家減少對於生物的恐懼感甚至是厭惡感, 尊重生命進而能保護生態.

在微距攝影裡面的後製, 有時候可以用來突顯出在現場人眼完全看不到的一些細節, 比方說這隻短腹幽蟌的翅膀黑色部分, 裡面其實隱藏著紫色的脈絡, 透過後製的局部調整, 去把這個部分還原出來, 也是一種 "拍出人眼看不見的美" 的方法.

[ 壽命不長 還累個滿足 ]
季節到了, 總會整棵樹爬滿滿, 厲害時還滿天飛, 掉滿地, 但其實獨角仙成蟲的壽命很短, 在野外大多只有一個月的壽命而已, 一個月裡面要忙著吃, 忙著打架, 配對, 整個搞到精疲力盡, 然後天氣一熱起來似乎又更加速了它們的死亡, 上個才才帶大家去拍攝滿滿的獨角仙, 這幾天去山區幾個熱點看, 都已經一隻都看不到了, 雖然這是自然的進程, 但總不免感嘆獨角仙真的是很短命的甲蟲啊...

在一個陰雨天中, 初次來到正濱漁港, 沒有漂亮的碧海藍天, 取而代之的是一片慘白...這時可以拉拉長焦, 把慘白的天空和海水反光完全咖掉, 或者找找有沒有積水可以拍出倒影, 總之, 遇到陰雨天, 就不要再想著要拍到碧海藍天的畫面, 這時更應該利用陰雨天才有的一些元素, 來表現這個景點.🤔

在剛開始接觸攝影的時候, 總會想要買顆最廣的鏡頭, 一次將整個景點都拍進去, 但這樣的拍法其實就很仰賴天氣好壞, 而且拍出來的獨特性會很低, 到這幾年, 已經慢慢覺得, 其實很多知名的攝影熱點, 都不需要拍出全貌, 只要拍出少少的特徵, 人家看一眼照樣認得出來, 而且這樣的照片, 往往會更有創意和特色.👍

One of the things that I've liked about my experience documenting the group of performers that like to play with fire is how inclusive they are. One of the performers grabbed the girl sitting next to me and asked her is she would like to try it out. It didn't take much cajoling to get her to play and these shots are of what I think were her first moments playing with fire in this way.

This was from a night out this past Spring at one of my favorite local haunts. In processing this image, once again I was torn over the mono or color version. Each has its own appeal to me.
Tech Specs: Image made with my Olympus OM-D e-M1.2 with the m.Zuiko 8mm f1.8 Fisheye Pro lens mounted on my Mefoto Globetrotter Classic tripod. This image is a stack/blend of 15 images - 14 light frames, 4 dark frames and a dedicated foreground image. The light and dark frames were all ISO6400 | f1.8 | 8s. The foreground was made taking advantage of the Olympus Live Composite feature. Live Composite allows me to continuously stack images using the same settings and the camera only keeps additive light. In this case, I used a base exposure of ISO400 | 10s | f1.8, and let the camera run for about 5 minutes while I lightpainted the "castle" and surrounding environment with my LED Lenser flashlight.
Post Processing: The light and dark frames with stacked in Starry Landscape Stacker. I then processed the stacked image separately from the foreground to taste in On1 Photo RAW 2020.5 and blended them. The mono version was finished in Nik Silver Efex Pro by DxO.

Post-Processing: Initial RAW processing handled by DxO PhotoLab 4 then quickly pushed to On1 Photo RAW 2021. I did send the image to Nik Silver Efex Pro for a mono conversion, but I ended blending it back in, instead of going with a straight B&W on this one.
