Rerooted with brushed acrylic microfiber yarn, so it looks and feels like it's mohair, but it's not! :D She'll be repainted soon, too~
I removed yellow ripped denim pattern from legs 970c00pb0996 using isopropyl alcohol, microfiber cloth and the tip of the 98338 part.

This is our 1984 Follis tandem bicycle, built the same year my wife and I were born. I just rebuilt it with new parts during my visit to Washington in September. Below is a list of the general upgrades, but check out the notes for parts details.
New parts traded in on the bike:
- tougher wheels, built by yours truly
-handlebars and stems
-rear derailleur
-rack
-saddles
-lighting (schmidt nabendynamo + led lighting)
-tires
-fenders
-brakes/levers
-drum brake
-cables and housing
Rebuilding this bike proved interesting and challenging. Several components were odd sizes, and the tolerances of french aluminum parts from the 1980's just weren't so great. The seat posts are 26.4mm (ugh), the new Nitto stem needed a tiny bit of light sanding to slide into the fork neatly (wtf?), and the original stoker stem was just an embarrassing disaster that demanded replacement after it would barely slide over the seatpost (grrrr). After two days of tinkering and a visit to Aaron's Bike Repair in West Seattle (cool shop, but a very pretentious owner) to get some seat post and stem shims and some tires the tandem is rolling and ready for action.
First ride report:
Very smooth and comfortable. I put on the biggest tires I could fit under the fenders, and they were adequate for moderate stretches of rough gravel road and perfect on pavement. We had a small problem with the stoker stem/seat post configuration that was allowing the rear handlebars and stem to spin, but a little lock-tite seemed to calm the problem. The bike definitely needs the drum brake I installed in the rear (even on short hills it gets going pretty fast with lots of momentum). We rode it about 15 miles on its first outing and it was pretty much faultless. Lots of responsibility at the helm of a tandem though, so I have lots to learn before we go on a tour with this bike.
I spent the early day on SCC's cleanup day strolling the hotel gardens and snapping shots of the beautiful landscaping. Then I ran into Jamie & Deborah who were admiring the same! We ended up spending the rest of the day together! I was great fun!

Tis the season for spring cleaning. I like to get it finished before it's time to work in the garden, that means a little before spring around here. Time to wash the curtains, clean the light fixtures, clean out dressers & closets and move all the furniture and scrub the floors.

My microfiber rehairs are made with brushed-and-straightened microfiber yarn, in a process that takes 2-8 hours, depending on style complexity.
Another microfiber rehair! Dash was SO much fun to do - all that color! Her hair is cut and styled with synthetic-safe hairspray, and she has no product in her tail - it's super soft and brushable. <3
I wish I got better pics of her, but I was in a hurry to rush her off to Everfree Northwest, where she was sold to go live in Australia! So neat!

At SCC, Deborah, Jamie & I had just finished having a lovely dinner at Magiano's in Perimeter Mall across from the Crowne Plaza at Ravinia in Atlanta and asked our waiter to take a shot of all three of us. He was happy to oblige!

As Day 5 rolled around, just about everyone else scattered back to their respective homes except for a handful of ladies and some of the event staff on cleanup duty. I spent the morning relaxing and walking the hotel grounds taking pictures of the beautiful gardens and land/waterscaping as well as the adjacent office buildings that were remarkable instances of architecture. Some of those pix will go up in my other photo stream!

At SCC on Sunday I decided to take a walk around the extensive hotel garden grounds and take some landscape pictures. There were some lovely scenes with woodlands & waterfalls! Also some interesting architecture in the office complex adjacent to the hotel. I met Jamie & Deborah during my stroll and we decided to hit the Mall together for shopping & dinner!
