The t-storm had passed, so I grabbed my camera and walked onto the beach to capture whatever I could see. Along the shoreline of the Gulf I noticed these wooden chaise chairs. ***CLICK***

Novak Djokovic, from Serbia, the undisputed winner of the Miami Open, is perhaps one of the best - if not the best - tennis player of all times. It is amazing to see what this player is able to do on the court, over and over.

This image is really not the most spectacular one I shot but it was one of my favorites from the bunch. The lighting was beautiful and the action was captured on a spot that provided a super clean background.

(Replaced)

On a more artistic note, trying to compose an image of the sports action with interesting elements, light, and shooting angle, I waited many times over the course of the tournament to get long and strong afternoon shadows on the court. There weren't that many opportunities.

Finally, later in the second week, I was abel to get a few nice images. This was one of them.

NOVAK DJOKOVIC is making history one title at the time.

With his French Open victory last Sunday, Novak Djokovic became the first man since the sixties to hold all four Grand Slam titles simultaneously.

I guess this is already a new era in tennis.

I found it appropriate to post this image captured at my last professional tennis tournament coverage.

An fantastic player to photograph!

I photographed this view of the Miami Open Stadium Court shortly after a cloudless sunset to have a clean and appealing color gradation in the background as the court was lit for the night session, and Nick Kyrgios of Australia started playing against Milos Raonic of Canada during a quarterfinal round match.

Since this was perhaps the first "nice" afternoon during the two-week tournament there were a number of photographers at the top of the stands with the same same shooting idea. I was the only one showing up with a tripod! The reason? I wanted to shoot for HDR processing and experiment with the resulting exposures. There were a lot of hidden details and drama in the view that you couldn't bring out with single exposure.

And since this is Flickr this might help others too.

This image was the result of the only sequence I could shoot. There were some technical issues I had to deal with when I started to set up.

The sequence ended up being a set of 3 manually exposed captures with time intervals. I created three processed layers from the three single captures. Two with Photomatix and one with LR. Then I blended these layers in Photoshop CC.

After all, I'm happy with the resulting final image.

I wasn't aware that I left this uploaded picture in "private" mode. Most of my uploads are.

I liked this action shot of Djokovic during a night session on Stadium Court for many reasons.

He is one of the best tennis players in the modern history of tennis. A spectacular player to watch and photograph. I strongly believe he is the most flexible player of all times.

Images like this one, under these stadium lighting conditions, is exactly the reason why I had to upgrade to Canon's EOS-1DX with the Canon 300mm f/2.8.
