Livorno (Italy): the "I Bagni della Regina" by the sea

Scoglio della Regina (Queen’s Rock), Livorno

Scoglio Della Regina, otherwise known as Queen's Rock, is a historical spot in Livorno. It was named for Queen Maria Luisa of Etruria who enjoyed this area as a reprieve from the public eye. The queen had a natural pool created, which was fed by sea water.

A beach resort was built in this spot during the 19th century. It was one of the first bathing establishments in Livorno, built in 1846. The resort was named Bagno Squarci after the builder. It was later renamed Scoglio Della Regina, as it is known today.

The building now holds the Saint Anna School Sea Technologies and Marine Robotics Research Centre. The building sometimes opens its doors to visitors, but those visiting the city will find no shortage of things to do and see in this location even if they don't go inside. The square on which Queen's Rock stands offers a spectacular view of the Ligurian Sea. There is also a lively statue representing the queen of the rock, which was crafted by Sandro Chia in 2017.

Whole title: "Tribute to the elevating power of LIGHT and sublimating force of COLOURS: Permanent Center of Gravity facing high Frequencies"

This is my "Tribute to the elevating power of LIGHT and sublimating force of COLOURS" where colours are the happy aspect of Life, the different shades each one of us is made of. The windows are our personal points of view and platforms of observation, our microscopic lives vs the cosmic "grandeur" ... But the Light centralizes and polarizes each own life towards the idea of a cosmic Salvation, up high and above... The Light beyond every single individuality where we will finally find a harmonic fusion in knowledge and supreme unconditional Love.

The "Oneness" which seems so difficult to achieve on Earth.

New improved edition as derivative work from my previous one, which is a derivative work itself originated as a first inspiration by an amazing photo of a post-modern building in Holland taken by Photographer Rob Oo, to whom I attribute the authorship with my best thanks to have been of such inspiration and have lighted up my creative fire!

In this enlightened edition, the main efforts have been addressed to chopping out right and left the exceeding portions obtaining a perfect square containing a perfect circle. I have filled up the wierd black hole appearing to the bottom left of my previous image, eliminated the magenta hues of the glass of the windows, improved the iron appearance of the windows frames dimming the electric blue, added, instead, some more blue to the central part, darkened the circle overall and improved the central source of light, redesigned several rays, especially in the upper part, making the existing ones more straight and regular, eliminated here & there some imperfections. I imagined the greenish/blue portion of my design as an overlapped semi-transparent pleated curtain veiling & revealing, lol, what is behind.

In the central upper quarter, at deeper view, can be seen a sort of whirl-o-swirl, like a pinwheel obtained by some windows added in a diagonal perspective, consequently looking like lozenges. Therefore, to me the upper portion, which I extra illuminated, is looking like the most mysterious and kinda magic.

Added a metallic passe-partout in a sort of brass colour.

Although it won't appear obvious, I made this frame from one of my photos of a sunflower thinking it looks cool to add to this luminous image the additional presence & meaning of sunflowers 🌻

Now it's ready to be printed and hung on the wall of my living room :-)

Metaphysical implications

The Mausoleum of Shah Rukn-i-Alam is the glory of Multan. When the city is approached from any side the most prominent thing which can be seen from miles all around is a huge dome. This dome is the Shrine of Sheikh Rukn-ud-Din Abul Fath commonly known by the title Rukn-i-Alam (pillar of the world). The tomb is located on the south-West side of the Fort premises. In beauty and grandeur so other dome perhaps equals it This elegant building is an octagon, 51 feet 9 inches in diameter internally, with walls 41 feet 4 inches high and 13 feet 3 inches thick, supported at the angles by sloping towers. Over this is a smaller octagon 25 feet 8 inches, on the exterior side, and 26 feet 1 0 inches high, leaving a narrow passage all round the top of the lower story for the Moazzan, or public caller to prayers. tomb of shah rukan alam

The whole is surmounted by hemispherical dome of 58 feet external diameter. The total height of the building, including a plinth of 3 feet, is 100 feet. As it stands on the high ground, the total height above the road level is 150 feet. This contributes materially to the majestic and colossal appearance of the tomb, making it the most prominent object of view to the visitors. Besides its religious importance, the mausoleum is also of considerable archaeological value as its dome is reputed to be the second largest in the world after 'Gol Gumbad' of Bijapur (India), which is the largest.

The mausoleum is built entirely of red brick, bounded with beams of Shisham wood, which have now turned black after so many centuries. The whole of the exterior is elaborately ornamented with glazed tile panels, string courses and battlements. Colors used are dark blue, azure, and white, but these are contrasted with the deep red of the finely polished bricks, while the result is both effective and pleasing. These mosaics are not like those of later day's plane surfaces, but the patterns are raised from half an inch to two inches above the background. This mode of construction must have been very difficult but its increased effect is undeniable, as it unites all the beauty and variety of colors with the light and shade of a raised pattern.

The grave of Hazrat Shah Rukn-i-Alam is of plain brick work covered with plaster. The tomb was said to have been built by Ghias-ud-Din Tughlak for himself, but was given up by his son Muhammad Tughlak in favor of Rukn-i-Aiam, when he passed away from this world during 1 330 AD at the age of 88. It is generally believed that Sh. Rukn-i-Alam was not. Equal in piety and sanctity to his illustrious grandfather Bahawal Haq, but there is no doubt that he was one of the most accomplished men of his age. He taught his disciples a modified form of metempsychosis, and discoursed with the people on metaphysical subjects.

He was on friendly terms with the saint Nizam-ud-Din of Dehli and was visited by the emperors of Dehli more than once. The hereditary guardians of the Shrine of Bahawal Haq and Rukn-i-Alam are called the Mukhdums of Multan, and they have thousands of disciples in southern Punjab and Sindh. Qureshi family. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussian Qureshi is current custodian ( sajjada Nasheen ) of Darbar Hazrat Shah Rukan-e-Alam

G is for Gas Mask for the Photo Each day group - week 7

Metaphysics embraces physics, as physics expresses aspects of what is meta. We catch it in moments of balance, when our vision expands across dimensions and we see in depth. It is the sense Blake had when he held infinity in the finite palm of his hand, and eternity for the period of an hour...

… She describes how God created, not to increase goodness, which is already infinite, but to reflect that goodness in the multiple beings of creation. Each can proclaim “I am,” she says, and so echo the divine I AM.

The story of creation unfolds in her account, like a great swoop from eternity, across time, and then back to eternity. The heavens and earth are formed. The beings who inhabit the spheres appear. Humanity falls. Civilizations disintegrate in petty squabbles. Then, surprisingly, she realizes that the fighting and quarrels are a digression.

The Ghats in Varanasi are world-renowned embankments made in steps of stone slabs along the river bank where pilgrims perform ritual ablutions. The ghats are an integral complement to the Hindu concept of divinity represented in physical, metaphysical, and supernatural elements.[90] Varanasi has at least 84 ghats, most of which are used for bathing by pilgrims and spiritually significant Hindu puja ceremony, while a few are used exclusively as Hindu cremation sites. Steps in the ghats lead to the banks of Ganges, including the Dashashwamedh Ghat, the Manikarnika Ghat, the Panchganga Ghat, and the Harishchandra Ghat, where Hindus cremate their dead. Many ghats are associated with Hindu legends and several are now privately owned.

Many of the ghats were constructed under the patronage of the Marathas, Shindes (Scindias), Holkars, Bhonsles, and Peshwas. Most are bathing ghats, while others are used as cremation sites. A morning boat ride on the Ganges across the ghats is a popular tourist attraction. The extensive stretches of ghats in Varanasi enhance the riverfront with a multitude of shrines, temples, and palaces built "tier on tier above the water's edge".[
