Well, yes! secrets... Here's a bronze sculpture by Henk Visch (1950-) with the highfalutin name 'Secret Life in a Public Body'. It was placed here in 2009. And as enigmatic is the phrase at the top of the sundial in the facade of the late-nineteenth century (renovated) building on the right. It reads: 'Wat tijd niet oplost is geen probleem' ('What time doesn't solve in no problem'). It seems that phrase - sculpted on June 28, 1997 - is derived from a work by the Flemish metaphysical philosopher, Karel Boullart (1943-).

Whole title: "Tribute to the elevating power of LIGHT and sublimating force of COLOURS: Permanent Center of Gravity facing high Frequencies"
This is my "Tribute to the elevating power of LIGHT and sublimating force of COLOURS" where colours are the happy aspect of Life, the different shades each one of us is made of. The windows are our personal points of view and platforms of observation, our microscopic lives vs the cosmic "grandeur" ... But the Light centralizes and polarizes each own life towards the idea of a cosmic Salvation, up high and above... The Light beyond every single individuality where we will finally find a harmonic fusion in knowledge and supreme unconditional Love.
The "Oneness" which seems so difficult to achieve on Earth.

New improved edition as derivative work from my previous one, which is a derivative work itself originated as a first inspiration by an amazing photo of a post-modern building in Holland taken by Photographer Rob Oo, to whom I attribute the authorship with my best thanks to have been of such inspiration and have lighted up my creative fire!
In this enlightened edition, the main efforts have been addressed to chopping out right and left the exceeding portions obtaining a perfect square containing a perfect circle. I have filled up the wierd black hole appearing to the bottom left of my previous image, eliminated the magenta hues of the glass of the windows, improved the iron appearance of the windows frames dimming the electric blue, added, instead, some more blue to the central part, darkened the circle overall and improved the central source of light, redesigned several rays, especially in the upper part, making the existing ones more straight and regular, eliminated here & there some imperfections. I imagined the greenish/blue portion of my design as an overlapped semi-transparent pleated curtain veiling & revealing, lol, what is behind.
In the central upper quarter, at deeper view, can be seen a sort of whirl-o-swirl, like a pinwheel obtained by some windows added in a diagonal perspective, consequently looking like lozenges. Therefore, to me the upper portion, which I extra illuminated, is looking like the most mysterious and kinda magic.
Added a metallic passe-partout in a sort of brass colour.
Although it won't appear obvious, I made this frame from one of my photos of a sunflower thinking it looks cool to add to this luminous image the additional presence & meaning of sunflowers 🌻
Now it's ready to be printed and hung on the wall of my living room :-)

A morning in Kaivopuisto Park, Helsinki.
It's technically long exposure + tripod sweep by courtesy of Alexey Titarenko who used this technique extensively in his St. Petersburg images.
This is also one of the images that can be found as 12x12 in. (30x30 cm) print in my Street Metaphysics monograph that was published a few months ago.

Book of Shadows pages I created. These are not pre-punched so they can be customized for most any Book of Shadows. These pages are on parchment paper 8.5 x 11 size.
this photo dates back to a few decades ago. in my youth I was delighted with shots of this kind as I loved metaphysical painters.

chance operation + metaphysical intention = strange attraction
(an alternative perspective on the nature of chaos)
i find, at times, that my camera is making exposures that i did not intend. it does this quite a bit, actually - in between shots, on the way to my pocket, switching between camera apps, and so on. these amount, i think, to chance operations, very-close-to-random events that might be considered misfires and discarded were i an actual photographer. but i often find that i like these images, these tiny, overlooked subjects viewed from odd perspectives, blurred by movement, or, simply, out of focus and poorly exposed. so i take this raw material and begin to look more closely, searching for the treasure within, exploring what may lie in the shadows, just below the surface, or hidden in the cascading light. increase the exposure, lighten the shadows, increase the contrast, decrease the contrast, add color, remove color, smear pixels, sharpen the result, knead and shape the pixels, admitting little bits of sensor noise, like salt or leaven, to bring out distinct and tasty characteristics that are there, not there, then there again. and all the while, i watch in wonder. the heart of a something is slowly revealed. sometimes i am able to discern and articulate some meaning in what i see, sometimes not. i continue the conversation, the dance, the follow-me-slowly from here to there until my partner is no longer following my lead, instead choosing to stand on its own, asserting itself in some mysterious way. sigh. i suppose this is not really photography. or is it? does it really matter? there are things in life that i do not understand, cannot explain, that are beautiful and valuable and wholly themselves whether or not i can name them, whether or not i have the vocabulary, the memory to say 'behold the fill-in-the-blank-with-your-own-favorite-subject.' in the end, i think of these images, of this image, as an essence that somehow wanted to be captured, communicating through some arcane mechanism, some inexplicable connection with the tool i have at hand ... and with me. i like that.
