Perhaps my metaphors are beginning to to work together . . . I looked around the shed and sure enough I found a stream.

This particular stream once powered a 'Factory of Light' . . . so I have relabeled my shed , , , nowadays my shed is my 'Factory of Light'.

The immediate question in my mind was "just how did he lever those tires into the frame". Closer inspection indicated, "carefully" and "without much extra room" Not sure if Grant P. would be giddy or flummoxed... Oh, if you don't know, they're "Speedblends" - available here.

This picture, to the untrained eye, may come across as simply a white line on a black background. But those of us who understand and appreciate the power of art, will come to realise that the meaning, impact and metaphoric symbolism exhibited here is on a realm never seen before.

The black space symbolizes our environment. The hostile place in which we live and struggle to survive. The white dash shows our path through life. The initial 'twist' suggests deep turmoil in our inner souls representing life's complexities. The stroke right references the continuation of life through the infinite afterlife and into another unknown dimension.

My first graphic recording for an organization, I was more than mildly amused at the fact that, what use to get me in trouble in school ... (drawing while the teacher spoke) was now the beginning of a new career for me.

After a weekend of good times and gambling I flipped my truck on an icy patch of I-70. Luckily, I crawled out unscathed. Not a scratch. Literally. After getting a tow, I was taken to a gas station to wait for a ride from my brother. There were a few older local folks sitting around a table scratching lotto tickets. I figured this was a sign and I bought a lotto ticket. It was a winner. At least it was enough of a winner to keep me going.

My metaphor for learning. Like a kite in the wide open sky, a small moment of learning can make a big difference in a child's life.
