Larceny: “carrying away of the personal goods of another from his or her possession with intent to convert them to the taker's own use”
He paid $4000 for that gear, I heard him say it. A sizeable investment in thievery, say I.
To me, this man is a laughable nip barely above a pickpocket. Those with a pro “finders keepers” agenda will make the argument that he should keep what he finds. I say to them, he is actively seeking out other peoples goods to retain for profit.
The equivalent of this would be going into a lost and found and matter of factly taking all of it, while onlookers say nothing. In fact, he should look into that... it wouldn’t cost him 4 grand. But wait, society would take issue with that. Why do we allow this man roam free on the beaches of the world? Why, and how, is it justified and considered a “hobby”?
Knitting is a hobby, looting beaches is a crime. Plus, people will think you’re weird.

Israeli soldiers will not miss any opportunity to make Palestinian life harder. On this photo you can see Givati soldiers who check documents of Palestinian who lives in the area. Palestinians are not allowed to bring knifes, scissors or sharp tools and cross the checkpoint even if they need them at home. Official reason - security measures.

Every seashell has a story to tell if you're listening
But underneath every shell there's a story as well if you've heard enough of the sea
Then everything on the top will just suddenly stop seeming interesting
So listen now to the sound of the things that are found underground
This was a very different scene also in Weymouth. I like the way the 'S' shape in the sand looked like a path this guy was using like a path, I don't think he found a horde of Roman coins though.
Getting back into the hobby after 4 years. Did everything wrong. Set discrim too high for nickels, soaked coins in vinegar. Live and learn!

Out with my metal detector today. I found (in an hour) 23 pennies, six dimes, one quarter, one fake Spanish (?) coin, and a 14k gold men's wedding band!

Israeli soldiers will not miss any opportunity to make Palestinian life harder. On this photo you can see Givati soldier who checks medical documents of elder Palestinian lady He knows her well because she cross this checkpoint at least twice a day, he knows that she is sick and she can't pass metal detector... still he acts like a real... "hero" and ask her for documents. Just to stop her for at least 15 minutes (sometimes couple of times more) to make her life even harder that it already is. Official reason - security measures.
Place: Checkpoint 56 (Shuhada St. entrance), Hebron, Palestine.
