Megan, my daughter and photographer was snapping photos of my attempt at metal detecting in the snowy woods. She found more treasure above the ground.

With the owners permission I was treasure hunting at this log cabin that is back in the woods, over 100 yrs old, no indoor water or bathroom, has tin roof. You can see my two metal detectors on the porch as I take a break. Had fun today digging for History. Forgot to say, there is even Indian carving near this cabin....I will try to get some photos on next visit.

My Father loves to go metal detecting and look for coins in the ground. At any playground or park where there are children, they follow him like he was The Pied Piper.

They are amazed when he finds a coin in the ground. My Father never comes out ahead when this happens, because he gives coins from his pockets to the children.

As soon as he leaves the area, the children run back to the spots where he was digging, and start digging with their hands looking for coins. It always makes me smile.

Martin is digging near Longchamps north of Bastogne. The ground is dry and soft but since a lot of roots and rocks are present digging is difficult enough.

The Garret 250 Metaldetector can be partly seen in the foreground. The detector was used in perfection by our Dutch friend/guide Bart. We learned a lot that day.
