2022 was a big year for soccer fans, because it was another World Cup year after waiting for 4 years. As an Argentina fan, I was so happy that Lionel Messi, the man I regarded him as my idol for over ten years, finally won this trophy that both himself and his supporters had desired for a long long time.
Being a soccer person for more than ten years, soccer to me not only served as a desire, but a kind of motivation that drove me through the good times and the hard times. I set a picture of Messi kissing the Rimet Trophy as the wallpaper of my phone.

Barcelona's Lionel Messi poses with his Ballon d'Or trophy, the World Player of the Year award, before their Spanish King's Cup soccer match against Real Betis at Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona in this January 12, 2011 file photo. At the age of 23, Barcelona's Messi has already come to define an era of European soccer in a way only a handful of players have managed since the days of Alfredo di Stefano. Right now, as he prepares for the Champions League final against Manchester United on May 28, 2011, Messi is undisputedly the world's best, though he may have to win a World Cup to secure a place alongside all-time greats Pele and Diego Maradona.
