From the July Haul

Anfiteatro Romano. (Roman Amphitheatre).

Luz naranja de sodio iluminando la vieja ciudad, simulando las tonalidades de aquellos tiempos en que la única luz nocturna era el titilar de una vela.

Y el río contempla inexorable el lento cambiar de los años, de sus luces.

Attractive architecture in Merida's historic centre.

Anfiteatro Romano. (Roman Amphitheatre).

A trip around Mérida, Yucatán. I didn't have my wide angle lens, but the telescope one, so I took this as an oportunity to take pics just with it. It was a good experiment as this lens gave me the opportunity to see details that I haven't seen.

Inner city street

Blue Bag Coffee.

After terrible experiences in at least 3 different Merida cafes, it was such a relief to find this place on our walk home. Totally relaxed vibes (if quite New Age-y) and very friendly woman working there.

Granted, it seems to be more tourist orientated than some other cafes, I did appreciate not being screamed and snapped at upon entering. Mexican men who work in fancy hipster cafes need to learn some manners when dealing with tourists (long story). So, Blue Bag was a breath of fresh air to just be greeted like a normal person who isn't some foreign evil doer trying to spread COVID evilly all over the place.

Plus, their coffee is good too! And they have cute little take-away espresso cups :)
