After taking over the Interstate Railroad in the 60's, Andover became home to the Southern Railway, and the IRR's 10 Alco RS3 units were sent away to work elsewhere. Fast forward to today, NS 8099 reflects this time period and is technically on home rails.

The series of mergers and acquisitions that occurred in the late 1990s in the US saw smaller publishing houses merging with other, bigger media conglomerates such as Viacom. These big media conglomerates saw the advantage of mixing traditional forms of publishing with different forms of new media and integrating a lot of the content into ‘digital entertainment’ (Ziv, 2002, p. 69). Mel Karmazin, President and Chief Operating Officer of Viacom said that 'by closely aligning our publishing and our entertainment operations, we expect to generate more revenue-enhancing opportunities for both’ (2002, cited in Ziv, 2002, p.70). This evidence suggests that new media has radically altered the publishing industry but the industry is taking steps to accommodate for and foster under, these changes.

A good friend of mine asked me to shoot some stock adventure shots for a new project he's working on. We headed up to red rock in thurstaston last Tuesday and got the best weather i could have hoped for! All shots were a mixture of 70-200 f4, tokina 12-24 f4 and tamron 17-50 f2.8 with a single sigma 500 super off camera fired by my poverty wizards that definitely need new batteries!
